Very impressed with the resiliency the Nuggets have shown in both playoff series. Unbelievable.

I don't like the Lakers at all but I can't see this series going past 5, maybe 6 games at the most. Anthony Davis is a monster and he's gong to put the clamps on Jokic. Up to this point, Nikola hasn't faced anyone with the defensive ability AD has, and Davis is going to make Jokic work on the defensive end as well.

As far as Murray goes, Lakers have a few good defensive guards but you can be sure that if the games are close in the 4th quarter, Lebron is going to cover him almost exclusively. Lebron's defense has deteriorated the last few years but he found the fountain of youth these playoffs and looks like a monster on both sides of the ball.

Murray and Jokic are terrific and hopfully the Nuggets will continue putting a solid cast around them (they have a dam good one already.) Lakers are just too experienced at this point and look like a team on a mission.

It all comes down to ownership and a competent front office for people to make a judgment on the destiny of a team.

The Clippers lost CP3, Blake Griffin and DAJ and still managed to win close to 50 games in the 2018-19 season and lure Kawhi Leonard in free agency.

The Knicks lost two of their best players of recent history in Melo and KP but have yet to establish a winning culture and have been spurned by every superstar free agent since.

Even if Kawhi and George have intentions of opting out of their contracts in 2 years, the Clippers can trade them and receive a hefty amount of assets back.

Aside from maybe RJ, the Knicks do not have any pieces that will make them into a winning team 5 or 6 years from now. No one knows if RJ would even want to continue being a Knick if he somehow develops into an elite player. I would be more optimistic if the Knicks had the tendency to win lotteries, draft better talent and attract top free agents.

Even with the Rose hiring, you get the feeling that Dolan will force his way into some kneejerk moves knowing that the Nets could be the center of attention if KD comes back strong and BK is contending. We saw him do this even when the Knicks had a very good team executive in Donnie Walsh.

Walsh was an average team exec at best and has been hands off since then. The clippers have nothing to build on, they're going to have to re-sign everybody this year, and their draft pick situation is downright horrid. WIth all that and an inability to draft high draft pick for a while, there's no way for them to do anything of note if Kawhi and george screws them.

I don't know what you consider a good team executive. The Pacers made the playoffs a total of 17 times under Walsh's regime. And he was responsible for building the only Knicks teams that have seen the playoffs over the past 15 years. He is far from being average.

The Clippers have to only worry about re-signing Harrell. Guys like Morris, Green, Patterson and Jackson are replaceable. The Miami picks that they gave up will be worth nothing. They still have a two year window with Kawhi and George to win a title. There is a possibility that those two can opt in to their contracts, but if they have intentions of leaving the LAC can make up for the picks that they lost by trading them.

The Knicks on the other hand have no sure future and no proven track record that they can build a winning culture. The only thing that Knicks fans can hope for is that RJ becomes a superstar and that their team strikes some type of luck in the draft.

An average exec can get you into the playoffs, which is what he does and not much else.

And you don't mortgage your future just to kick the can down the road. George's value drops as I type this and kawhi is aging out. They have a 2 year window and then they're done for a good minute barring a miracle

The Pacer teams that Walsh put together did more than just get into the playoffs. Six of those teams made it to the EC finals and one made it to the finals. Just because Indiana never won a title under him doesn't mean that he was not a good executive. He had to deal with being a GM in the Jordan era and did not have elite level talent to work with after the decline of Reggie Miller. It is rare that an executive wins titles without the right amount of superstars. If you want to call a GM average just look at Daryl Morey, who has had a lot more high end talent throughout his tenure and has less of a track record than Walsh.

What future were the Clippers mortgaging? They were a good team with Gallo and Harris, but they weren't going to win anything with them nor were they going to be a lottery team going forward. When the LAC acquired George he was coming off one of the best seasons of his career while Kawhi had just carried his second team to a title. On paper those moves put the Clippers in a better position to win a championship. A person would have to be out of their mind not to have made those deals.

I don't know what you're basing George's value and Kawhi's aging on. George had one of his career average years and was always known to underachieve in the playoffs. And it is not like Kawhi is on the wrong side of 30. He is still in his prime and has more than a few years left in him.

The day that Walsh left the Knicks was a very sad day in Knicks history. You just got the feeling that things were going to go downhill from there. I would have loved to have seen the type of Knicks roster he would have built had Dolan not meddled into things during the Melo saga.
