Bruh, Senior done bet on himself already. Be realistic, playboy...and put yourself in his And 1 shoes.

Mans went from being an undrafted free agent to potentially hitting it big with a nice long term guaranteed contract.

if i were masai i would talk to fvv and try and explore sign and trade options to get him on a good team and get value back, sign and trade for oladipo would be the best case for everyone to be honest.

knicks gonna knick tho, spend all their money and have no hope.

Ooph this is a tough decision but I think you have to keep him. We have no PG of the future and when you look at the Knicks, Pistons, Suns, etc etc... PGs seem like they're easy to find. But they aren't.

Fred is a leader, a defender and great locker room guy.

I can see Van Fleet's career following Jeremy Lin kind of trajectory in New York. Our system made him what he is.

I don't think that's a ridiculous amount of money. Raps looked great last season when Lowry was out and Fred was running the show. Better than when they were both healthy and we had two tiny guards. As the Boston series proved, that's just too easy to defend. But Fred and Norm (or Kyle and Norm) were a functional pairing.

Either Fred or Kyle is going to be the starting point guard next season. The other one will be gone. It all comes down to what Kyle wants. He's still looking good, and with Chris Paul's renaissance I don't think there's a stigma against older smaller PGs. But Masai is not in the habit of losing assets for nothing. He signed Nene to the big deal, then traded him after a few months.

Looked great with Senior running the show sans Kyle. Only thing is Senior always gets hit with the annoying injuries.

This is what the professionals in the front office get paid for. If we let Fred go I'll be okay.

I love the guy, and I wish him all the best no matter what.

There is a 0% chance Masai doesn’t match whatever offer FVV gets, no matter the number. He has stated publicly that he hates losing assets for nothing. He will resign him and do what he ALWAYS does to get out of bad deals if it goes south - attach a pick to it to get out of the money. If fVv leaves it’s because he chose a new challenge.

I expected more actually... we will obviously
Pay 20 even though it should be 18. For 20 vs 22 he will stay.

Do they have any decent assets we can S&T for?

Wouldn’t his cap hold be above $40M in this scenario? Not sure how that helps land Giannis.

Everyone in the league is overpaid, therefore they're not. I would prefer we look at contracts as % of cap rather than get all worked up about the numbers. I'd keep him.

Brogdon got a 4 year $85M contract and many have used him as a measuring stick for Fred's free agency.

4 years and $88M isn't that far off.

When do the Knicks ever thing about anything other than the short term?

Losing him for nothing with no backup plan at the position is a Rob Babcock-type of move.

Masai knows this will be an easy decision to resign him - if he underperforms, you can always trade him.

Exactly. You don't let an asset walk for nothing. Even if he performs well, but you have solid replacements in the system and you want to spend that money on another position, you can trade him.

Frankie Smokes is destined to be Raptor. Kevin Knox could be a guy to develop though I’ve never cared for him. Taj would be a nice one year stop-gap.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….
