He had 2 months where he was above league average efficiency (1 of those was only 1% above) and one month right at league average. He put up his numbers on volume.
So he “only” averaged 23 points at league average efficiency... you don’t realize that’s not a bad thing.. right?
Sure he isn’t one of the top 5 or even 10 elite scorers, but you can do much much worse as your #1 guy.
He just had probably the 4th or 5th best season in Raptors history behind Kawhi in 2019, Lowry in 2015 or 2016, and then he’s right up there just below with any Bosh or Carter season.
Let’s just chill and get off the guys back.
His season as a whole ended up being below average efficiency, so no it wasn't impressive at all.
All of Bosh's seasons after his sophomore year were better than Siakam's. Vince had at least two better seasons. Even Demar had a couple seasons better than him. Lowry has had 4 or 5 seasons better than Siakam's including this year.
Yeah the less than 1% difference is worth even bringing up
Siakams last season was better than anything Demar ever did. Siakam could’ve had a 52TS% and his defence alone brings him much above Demar. How quickly forget how meh Demar was offensively (his best season is about the same Siakam did last year) and how AWFUL he was defensively.
Siakam > Demar and it isn’t even close. Siakam/Bosh/Carter are all the same caliber of player. Not good enough to be a #1 (like.. 5 guys are). Not quite good enough to be a #2 on a championship team, but fills in perfectly as a #3 (just as Siakam was last season).
Contrary to what this board thinks, decent offensive #3’s who are great to elite on the defensive end are max guys.
