However, sources indicate the Pistons have also made it known they're open to trading the No. 7 pick.

You’d think they want a PG desperately.

they can have Conley. i'm sure we can figure out a way to make salaries work - send us back christian wood with that #7 and we're golden.

Yeah I'm sure they are looking at possibilities of moving up or down but doubt they just trade out of the draft or anything.

I would imagine they are hoping for Hayes at 7 but looking at other things in case not

Would the Clippers trade a "PG" for a top 10 pick?

In all seriousness, this seems egregious to me. The Pistons are going nowhere fast, IMO they're the top candidate to just completely rebuild. They shouldn't be giving up assets for short-term help so that maybe they can get back to the 8 seed

I would certainly hope so. I'm not thrilled with this draft (probably why Charlotte got a good pick...) but Detroit needs to stay patient and stop trying to take shortcuts. I like Halliburton and Hayes personally, if they need/want a PG there is a chance one of them falls to 7.

This this the exact opposite of what Detroit should be doing here.

You guys overreact, they aren't gonna trade the 7th pick for some starter to compete for the 8th seed. They salary dumped Dre and have signaled towards a rebuild since the halfway point of last year.

They also have a new GM in Troy Weaver

Detroit might be in dangerous territory though

Stanley Johnson and KCP type guys are in the 7th pick range.

Different draft, different players and different GM. There's value to be had at 7th but we do gotta start drafting better

Warriors #2 pick doesn't have much trade value so I doubt the #7 does.

Who knows, might pick up a gem at #7 if they keep it. This draft isn't hyped but there's always a few sleepers in each draft around that #7-15 range who end up being impact players and even perennial All-Stars. Guys like Klay Thompson and Kawhi and Giannis were taken in the late lottery.

This draft sucks , I wouldn't give more than a 2nd rounder to get the 7th pick back

So you wouldn't trade a 2nd round pick for a chance at Hayes, Okongwu, Haliburton, Toppin, Vassell etc..

You would need to pay me something to get a top pick. First round salary is guaranteed, 2nd rounder is not.

In this uncertain financial times and terrible draft talent I would not bother trying to get a higher pick

Scew that, give me the top 10 pick. This draft sucks from a superstar standpoint but it's not like the back half of the lottery is gonna be all that abnormal, especially at 7.
