Yeah but against ball movement teams like Toronto or Miami, Green would be a disaster. His understanding of team defense makes Jaylens team D look like Garnett.

Yup. There's a reason why Grant and Semi are being preferred over guys like Timelord and Langford. I like Romeo's individual defense for a rookie but he'll get lost with all this Miami movement. Stevens also elected to go zone sometimes when Timelord was on the floor 'cos he struggles with PnR defense. Same reason Chris Boucher, athletic and long as he is barely saw the floor for Nurse.

Most of the top teams being great at moving the ball is why I value team defense over man to man as much as I do.

And it’s also why having Hayward back will help on the defensive end as well, he’s their 3rd best team defense guy.

Yeah, Pierce made All-NBA third for the first time when he was 24 (2002). He made two more third teams (2003, 2008) and a 2nd team (2009) after that.

And should have made 3-4 more second or third teams All Pro EASILY - if he had not been so criminally underrated - even by some Boston fans.
He will be in the HOF this spring without a **** doubt.

Yeah it was more a foul on Kemba than anything upon replay. Lowers his shoulder into DJJ who then of course knocks over Smart. Definitely the design of the play there is to trick the refs, and they did. Pretty funny that the L2M report has three wrong calls, all benefiting the Celtics. And the bitching in the gamethread that the refs were favoring the Heat lmao

I'm with ainge on this one, kemba needs to play better and we need to feed brown more on o.
If nuggets can win after being down 3-1 twice we can do it but I consider this a must win game.
My pick of clips vs bucks championship is down the drain but I picked us to be we are eastern conference now I think we can get to the championship series!

What some players do is they wait for the next dead ball before approaching and talking to the refs. Which is smart. 'Cos they won't change the call in the middle of a fastbreak lol. You're more likely to get a tech if you don't quit bitching. If your goal is just to work the refs and get some favorable calls in the future, do it while someone's taking a free throw or something.

Still should be a tough series since Miami has enough offensive firepower and defense to make it a tough series and Heat have a one game lead but Hayward coming back for game 2 -- if he does -- makes me much more optimistic.

Even if Hayward is literally a net negative in game 2 and causes the Celtics to lose it, that one game back makes it more likely he does well the next game. And despite the Heat being very good and maybe better than that, Celtics with Hayward/Tatum/Brown/K Walker/Smart playing well are capable of taking 4 out of 5 from the Heat. It may take some luck to do that but it is possible.

I'm still pretty optimistic on the Miami series. I think we saw the best version of Miami last night but not the best version of the Celtics (particularly their defense). Despite that the Celtics were up by double digits twice and Miami was never up that much.

Also, Kemba started to look better in the second half of game 1. I’m hoping this means he has a monster in game 2.

I thought the refs were blatantly favoring the Heat in the late third quarter and much of the fourth. They stopped once the game was close again, which is why it won't show in the L2M report.

I think we need to figure out a way to get Rob some buckets at the rim. I mean the guy is automatic at the rim yet gets a pass like once a game. I just can't figure it out. Theis can't have 4 points in Game 2. We make it so hard on ourselves at the end of games.
