I've been saying it for months, although it looks like nobody else worreid about it until now. There is no cap room on this team for Norm after 2021 regardless of 3%. They will be trading Powell if they trade anyone. So imo, that is not a big reason and 2-3 million doesn't change that. The only thing that changes that is FVV getting too big an offer elsewhere.

Literally, we ditch McCaw or Johnson and were are even.

Those guys are signed for just as long as Powell. It's not anymore likely... he was always the prime guy we would trade because he has one year left before a big payday.

Happy for Pascal but man is that contract looking rough now. Hopefully he can play his way into it.

That bit of extra cap space would have been nice to have but Masai still got out of that 5th year by extending him last summer.

I know people are really down on Siakam, but you still have to judge the season as a whole. With those numbers, he's still getting the 5 year Max with the All-NBA kicker and there is no negotiation at all. There's no young player that makes an All-NBA team heading into Free Agency that doesn't get the Max.
