I was referring to who the clippers tried to gaurd Jokic with..

Montrezl Harrell

It didn’t work..You have have more size-length to have a chance at bothering his shooting/passing/rebounding

I think Jokic could have some troubles next round against both AD and Javale. Could be terminal for them.

Wiseman may instantly be the most athletic center in the NBA. Most 7-0 guys can't really run but if you watch Wiseman you see a guy beating guys up and down the court. Just visually it's really unusual to see a guy that big that fast top end baseline to baseline. He also has a great vertical, he tested out a 12 foot standing jump reach at Memphis. To put that jump reach into context a sports science show tested Dwight Howard in his prime who hit a 12 foot 6 inch jump reach but that was with a running head start. So his apex jump reach is comparable to Orlando Dwight Howard. His measureables are comparable to AD who is 6-10 with a 7-6 wingspan, Wiseman coming in at 7-1 with a 7-6 wingspan. He has a good frame to add muscle and definitely has since Memphis which is a good sign. They thought pre-suspension he was a favorite for NPOY.

Think floor is decent starting center. Hell Jarrett Allen is a decent starting center and his skills are really pretty limited.

No way.

Javale would be the absolute floor for me, so I guess it comes down to what's between the ears if that is the case.

I've been reading different Warriors writers and they seem set on getting a guy who's ready to play now at #2 and that's either Obi Toppin, Deni Avdija with his pro Euro experience, or Tyrese Haliburton. Most go for Toppin, but the Warriors think he doesn't have the upside because he's 22 already (phew). No question, he's got the size and offense to help the Warriors, but would need to work on his defense. As for the other big men -- James Wiseman and Onyeka Okongwu -- I'm more open to drafting Wiseman now, but both need a lot of work. Okongwu is a defensive specialist, but needs to work on building up lower body strength and his offensive game. Wiseman also needs to improve his lower body strength and has fantastic size and measurements, but I think he'll need the most work of the two. I would have to see Wiseman do running drills as well as passing and weave drills with NBA players. I think he's got nice hands, but speed and coordination are the keys for a big man making it into the NBA and being successful. If he can knock the socks off the Warriors brass and scouts and somehow we can see it, then I'm okay with drafting Wiseman at #2.

However, I still have Anthony Edwards or LaMelo Ball as BPA ahead of anyone else. Maybe Wiseman could move up to #3 per the writers. However, I think he'll be better with a team that has the time to develop him (assuming he knocks the socks off viewers watching his draft workout). If the workout doesn't happen, then I can't move him up to #3. If he's there at #8 (Knicks pick), then take him but I rather have Haliburton or Okoro and I think the Warriors are high on Haliburton as a wing. They're also high on Avdija and he could be their #2 pick.

The Ws haven't said much about the PGs except not wanting LaMelo as he's too ball dominant. Nothing on Killian Hayes, but some writers like him. Nothing on Okoro. Nothing on Okongwu, but most writers like him. They don't really explain how he fits with the Warriors. There's a lot on Wiseman, but the writers are solidly divided like we are. The consensus seems to be for the Warriors to trade down, but who they get back is fuzzy.

Image

The easiest trade seems to be getting Mitchell Robinson + #8 pick + Bobby Portis (expiring) for the #2 pick + Looney + TPE. The Warriors refuse to include Eric Paschall.

I still can't wrap my head around the fascination with Mitchell Robinson. I know he's been playing on the Knicks, and they suck, but I have yet to see why we should give anything of value up for the guy. He looked like he had smoked a giant bowl of peyote when I watched him in NYC last year. Great timing for blocks, and would maybe be able to do some McGee stuff for us, but him being the focal point of a trade with us for the #2 makes me want to club baby seals.

Oops, I forgot. The Warriors will probably have to toss in one of their SRP for Portis which will help their cap. They still have to re-sign Dragan Bender and Chasson Randle if they want to bring back. Also, decide on keeping Mychal Mulder, Juan Toscano-Anderson, and Ky Bowman's partially guaranteed contracts. Marquese Chriss' deal isn't fully guaranteed either, but he'll get it lol. Damion Lee isn't fully guaranteed, but he should get it. Kerr said that Draymond would see action at C towards the end of games, but may have his minutes at C lowered to save his body. The other deals for a C do not seem realistic unless it's for TPE -- Tomas Satoransky, Dewayne Dedmon, Cody Zeller, or Kelly Olynyk. Harry Giles could be signed as UFA.

I’m with you on Robinson. He’s very one dimensional and very slight. I’m not saying he’s a bad player, but like you I’m not dropping any extra value for the kid.

I still love the idea of our center spot being taken care of by Wiseman, Chriss, and Draymond. And if Looney is healthy too, you suddenly have another guy with length you can count on.

what would it be avdija' "pro euro experience"?
34 games in EL with only 5 starts and 12 minutes avg?

Wiseman's floor is total bust, but he's unlikely to hit that floor. His more likely floor is JaVale ... an athletic 7 footer who never quite figures it out.

I've listened to some podcast and the love affair with Deni is something I do not understand. They will say he isn't really athletic enough to guard forwards, he can't shoot and shoots 56% from the free throw line, but they do not care because he is a competitor. I'm like who cares the dude can't shoot the game is about making baskets.

Some of the best players in the game at 18 years old couldn’t hit the side of a barn from 10 feet

If Advija had better shooting stats, there’s no way he’d be available at #2 in this pitiful draft

You never know..I see every player being mentioned in the top5 having serious warts

Wiseman posted another short IG clip of his workout. Just a short cross-over dribble workout. In the small amount of clips he’s posted he’s working a lot with handles. Looks below avg still - but glad he’s working on it while he’s young and in a few NBa seasons might have some serviceable handles.

Just hope he works on his interior game too. Learning to back down opponents and having 1-3 go to moves would be nice. Can’t have a big who can only dunk with no post game. He should just call precious up and other college bigs and just practice post moves all day everyday.

Unless his handles and pull ups become so good that he's like some poor man's version of KD, a 7 footer trying to cross over defenders, all that work is useless.

More likely his path to being an effective NBA player is to use his size, length and athleticism to get a lot of dunks, rebounds and at least try to challenge shots at the rim.

Or doing dirty work like screening for the better shooters. Maybe if he shows consistency at the mid range jump shots, he becomes useful for some pick and roll, pick and pop, though it would be preferable for him to dive to the basket, rim run or kick out to open shooters if teams rotate after doubling Curry.

Warriors don't need him to be taking 3s unless he's left wide open and in practice he's shown enough proficiency at hitting that shot.

I agree with this for the most part.

Only handles he really needs is a quick couple dribble direct line to hoop. Also, basic straight line secure dribbling because it would be amazing if he could get a board and get out and dribble a bit instead of just having to hold the ball and wait for a guard. There's also some skill to dribbling with back to basket to avoid turnovers, which I haven't seen him practicing in these clips.

really don't need him crossing people over, going behind the back, between legs, etc lol
