Why would you explore the option of trading Hayward for three Semis?

No, but if Hayward says he wants out you try to recoup something. THJ would come attached with #18. Barnes I'm iffy on but he can shoot and theoretically play D. You'd be hoping he'd improve in our system, though.

You must like Semi more than the rest of us.

We'll be screwed if this happens. I should just sleep and not think about these things.

Honestly properly built the younger Celtics may be able to beat KD/aging Leonard and Kyrie Irving. Before you think that is silly, Jokic and Murray just beat Leonard and Paul George. There is just one basketball and tough to know for sure if KD is even a top 15 basketball player after his injury. Yes, he can still shoot and still tall with a long reach. But he is getting up there in years and coming off an injury that is worse than an ACL injury for most players. KD is a special player because of his ability to drive so well to the basket for a player of his height. If that skill is diminished in a major way and he struggles to move real well on defense, his days of being a legit superstar in the playoffs may be over. KD was in the perfect situation with the Warriors so that probably hid some physical decline with defenses scared to death of Curry/Klay.

Kyrie Irving I am not worried at all about.

I also think Leonard is not a dumb guy even though he made a horrible decision in forcing the Clippers hand to do the Paul George trade. When Lebron joined the Lakers, he didn't force them to get Anthony Davis before joining the team. Lebron had patience.

Thing is Leonard will never be able to show his face in LA if he asks out before the end of next year. I will almost go further than that and say Leonard will have a tough time leaving the Clippers even after next year because he played GM. If you play GM, you really risk massive wrath from the fans. I realize Clippers don't have tons of fans but they have some.

Lebron doesn't seem to have a problem doing it and the sheep still follow him

I am starting to lean toward exploring kemba rrades as well.

Smart/brown/tatum/hayward/better center than theis and a bench.

We need Hayward playmaking back. Tatum hasn’t shown enough growth there.

Use the MLE on DJ Augustine. Wanamaker has been good but he’s a big part of why teams play zone. His shot isn’t respected.

Kanter + Poirier to Detroit for Tony Snell. DET just gets some more cap space. Snell is a knock down shooter that would be an improvement for bench wing minutes.

Edwards, Green, Semi, #26 to SAC for Bjelica. Bjelica takes Kanter frontcourt spot and adds another knock down shooter.

Kemba / Augustine / Waters
Brown / Smart / Langford
Hayward / Snell
Tatum / G Williams
Theis / Bjelica / R Williams / Tacko

Plus whoever we take at #14.

That smooths our the edges on this team and improves depth/shooting. It’s expensive for one year but it’s no multi year money assuming Augustine takes one year.

They wont win a championship with kemba, imo. Wrong type of pg. But perhaps kemba can change.

Need a playmaker desparately.

We now know enough about the core to know that there is a need to change one of them out.

And do I trust danny to figure out the right one? Not really.

Hayward for a bag of chips. Brad Stevens and multiple firsts for Nurse

Yah, it feels like we’d need something else. I just think that a Kemba/Simmons/Tatum/Hayward lineup was really crush it. And that taking the talent upgrade of Simmons vs Jaylen [all-nba vs all-star] is worth it.

Not sure a mental midget like Simmons will help the effort/mentality on the intangibles side. And definitely not sure it’d help the shooting needed to beat zones.

we have shooting and the zone kills us. A player who is dangerous close to the hoop (kanter has done it but can't play defence) compresses that zone real quick

simmons would need to be willing to play a lot of centre for us though

Can't imagine a scenario where the core 5 doesn't come back. It's not like we are in the 1st round..this an ECF team missing a really great player. Obvious choice here is to run it back unless Hayward decides to bounce..add some pieces, some champions who know what to do and say in the locker room..hopefully make a giant run at a guy like Serge Ibaka and add some **** shooters.

Horford would be super helpful right now against the zones and with his pick and pop. Not worth his money, but If you 3 team with Hayward to GSW and get #2 back that go down easier. Wiggins to PHI, balance out with lesser picks/assets

Ibaka would be great, but we would need at least the MLE to get him.
