Bucks: Seth Curry, Patty Mills
Mavs: Eric Bledsoe
Spurs: Delon Wright, DJ Wilson.

Pop does right by Patty by giving patty a shot to contribute on a title contender. Spurs get younger, commit to their current guards. Mavs get a talent upgrade, we get a fit upgrade. Keep the #24 pick or package it with Ersan/Robin.

Patty, Hill, Curry and Donte can all play together at both guard spots. They can’t all go cold at the same time.

Ersan and #24 to New Orleans for Melli, #39 and #42. Use the money saved to bring in Gallinari. So much spice.

Mills/Hill
Donte/Curry
Middleton/Matthews
Giannis/Gallinari
Lopez/Melli

+ #39, #42 and three roster spots for whoever.

Toughness. Shooting. Depth to withstand injuries at multiple positions.

Elite ideas. This underscores my thinking on the offseason. If we shed Bledsoe and address roster spots in the 4-10 range sufficiently, no need for a major upheaval.

Id then see if we can add Giles and Moore with the exceptions, assuming we have the BAE and MLE.

In case Giannis doesn't sign extension. Would Bucks keep him for the year anyway to take a stab at the championship? Or would they trade him?

What would it take for you to accept a trade for Giannis in this situation?

Just take a stab. It will be too painful if he leaves anyway for me to care about bucks ball for a couple years anyway.

I respect that. It's not a bad option. I can't think of any package that would be worth giving up a year of prime Giannis anyway and the accepting team would have no guarantee he stays. You'd have to look at what pelicans got for AD as a comparison.

I also think they take a stab. Management pretty much said it last week too. Whatever deal you get won't be enough so you might as well take your last swing at it and try for the Kawhi situation. If you win, maybe he signs. Even if not there seems a legit chance he signs.

Of course that could change if he pulls an AD type thing and says he will not resign so trade me now. He said last week he won't do that, but never know. I guess I'm just saying there could be some gray area if he says he's not signing no matter what. Any other scenario you go for the title and hope for the best after.

I don't think he signs extension this off-season and I don't think he demands trade like Davis.

So you guys are right. I think you have to go all in and hope for the best next season. I'm sure he stays if Bucks get to Finals.

But going all in this off-season means making moves that could backfire. Like taking on CP3 knowing he has a couple years of 40m+

This is where I'm leaning philosophically as well. Replace Bled with someone *poised* -- it doesn't even need to be a better skill fit necessarily, although do that too if possible -- and scoop out a chunk of the back half of the roster (Pat, Korver, Sterling, DJ) and replace it with tough, well-rounded players (not that Pat and Sterling aren't tough, but the inability to put the ball on the floor is a killer for a wing -- they are both essentially tiny bigs).

Have started putting together a list of potential acquisitions:

The Bled Part

NBA
Luke Kennard
Rubio
Bogdan

Europe
Campazzo
Shane Larkin

The Rest of the Roster Part

NBA
De'Anthony Melton
Svi Mykhailiuk
Jaylen Nowell
Jacob Evans
John Konchar
Richaun Holmes
Chris Chiozza
Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
Shaq Harrison
Jalen Brunson
Damion Lee
Ntilikina
DaQuan Jeffries

NCAA
Robert Woodard
Desmond Bane
Nate Hinton
Skylar Mays
Malachi Flynn
Immanuel Quickley
Paul Reed

Europe
Leandro Bolmaro
Yam Madar
Darrun Hilliard
Pierria Henry

I love sending Robin to Disney, no need for a return. Birch, like Robin, is awful.

Are the Magic ready to prematurely give up on Mo Bamba? Robin and a 1st for Bamba. He'd be unreal in our defense, and he can shoot the 3. Added muscle during the break, but then hit hard by Covid.

As far as Giannis goes, he'll sign an extension of some sort after most of our roster moves are done in December.

His comments don't suggest that and he doesn't need to sign early.

I imagine he sees what Bucks do to win all season long. Then decides if he resigns based on playoffs. Similarly to what LeBron did in Cleveland. If Cavs get to Finals he doesn't leave.

Depends on why he doesn't sign an extension. There are a lot more reasons not to sign the contract than 'HE GONE'.

I’d throw Tyus Jones in the mix too. Would imagine the Grizz want to bring back Melton, Jones was injured for their stretch run. Could see him being available.

Yeah I don't think he gone. To me I think it means he will stay if Bucks get to Finals next playoffs.

Even if he 100% will sign the supermax from a fiscal standpoint it won't make sense to sign this off-season unless he thinks the cap will drop even further. The 5y/250m will probably be more like 5y/220m by the time he can sign it. Better wait a year and hope the cap spikes back up.

My general rule is if you have a realistic chance of winning a championship I never trade the star player even if he flat out told me he was leaving. It's just too damn hard to get to that level in the NBA. Id rather have a shot at 1 championship than take the pieces and hope to rebuild.

Even with this year's flame out I still think the Bucks are at that level so the only way I'd even consider moving Giannis is if early next season injuries destroy the team and Giannis tells them he's gone. Then you look at deals at the deadline.

If you could get the equivalent of what OKC got for PG then I think I'd probably help Giannis pack.

Pretty sure that has to be the minimum for a 2x MVP and DPOY

I'm still running this checklist before sanctioning any other trade:

1) Opportunity too good to pass up
2) Acquire elite PnR handler for Bledsoe+ (CP3, Kemba, possibly CJ) or very promising PnR handler for minor assets (White, Morris, etc.)
3) Acquire elite secondary playmakers for reasonable price (Lonzo, not sure who else)
4) Acquire borderline star player

Agree with that.
