Smart is great but if any guard is in that convo its Ben Simmons

Good point. I'd also say Klay, a lot of his value on defense comes from his switchability, and not a lot of guys have his combination of quickness and strength.

Klay is awesome but his man defense mostly translates against guards specially Pgs. Alot of wings cook him TBH. Even back when Harrison Barnes was on the team he did a better job of guarding guys like Harden and Kd than Klay did (obviously Iggy was the guy)

Ive seen Ben switch onto guys like Ad and Sabonis and get stops or steals on them. Hes a freak

Definitely does his best work on PGs, but on a possession by possession basis he can comfortably switch 1-4. Agreed that Simmons is in a different tier. I really want to see 6ers make the Simmons/Embiid pairing work just based off the defense of those two.

To me it's a real problem that they keep tinkering under the radar. I'm not saying they can't make improvements, but you have to do some kind of Versioning as if it were on Github. While I'm sure that feels alien to ESPN, so does making changes without explanation.

I'll note that while I'm not sure how involved with it Engleman is at this point, this is something I've been saying for years and I posted on APBRmetrics back in the day: He's always seemed more interested in making the "perfect stat" than he's been at actually making something analysts can use, but that's just the wrong approach.

It would be nice if these stats could be tested as fast as they're tinkered with

C'mon man it's the intensity and body language of it. LeBron isn't the type to look people in the face and yell at them normally lol. Idk man for people that have been watching Bron for years you can tell he's a little more aggressive and angry than usual with that. He'll yell at the crowd for sure but he doesn't normally just yell looking guys unless he's amped.
LeBron's NBA Cup MVP is more valuable than either of KD's Finals MVPs. This is the word of the Lord

Jokic is making great reads, his teammates just aren't big enough to score

If ur talking about the pass to the cutter just now that looked really cool but it definately wasnt the right read, someone wasnopen in the corner and he was cutting into davis and dwight

The lakers have just been doing good at getting to cutters and rotating

Vogel is really being carried to a ring. Gotta feel malone outclassing his matchup and watching his team get dunked on.

LOL @ still treating Vogel like some run of the mill coach

hes easily top 10. Hes not on Spos level but he doesnt need to be with Bron/Ad. Vogel has squeazed alot of good out of the role players depending on matchups all playoffs. His rotations have been great too. So many games were Bron is playing 32-36 minutes

Nuggets defecit decreased without Jokic and Muray on the court. Vogel putting a unch of bigs orpsuedo-bigs on against a team with no rim protection isn't some 4D chess move.

Championship Level attitude by Dwight staying ready after not playing all series long against the rockets.

This is Lebrons best supporting cast ever.
