Kawhi Leonard

Post#1 » by James2000 » Sat Sep 19, 2020 4:03 pm

I have a question. with the clippers lost to the nuggets, do you feel like kawhi Leonard deserves 100 percent of the blame based upon him being the face of the franchise? Do you feel like Kawhi wasn't 100 percent healthy the reason they lost?

Kawhi was healthy and he was busting his butt all series. He was hitting the floor for loose balls, ripping the ball of of thin air, and defending Murray and Jokic. He wasoing everything in this series, but I think he lost faith in his teammates in Game 6. They didn't show the fight to be a champion. So, Game 7 he was in cruise control waiting for his teammates to understand the moment. They never really did. Kawhi had several teammates that had been to a Conference Finals, but never an NBA Finals. You would expect them to be hungrier.

One play late in Game 6 stands out. It was in the 4th while we still had a chance to come back. Kawhi had the ball and passed it off to a teammate, but it was lazy behind the back pass. It stood out because it was not a winning mentality type of play. He saw the weak mindedmindedness of his teammates (and coach) and wasn't going to exert extra effort when it takes the entire team to do it in those moments.

So with Kawhi Leonard not trusting his teammates, do you think that he is going to have a heavy hand in reshaping the roster?

It's not that Kawhi does not trust his teammates. It's more of a disappointment with their failure to understand the momentum.
As for the roster... I honestly don't know how much power would he have.

As long as Kawhi says "It's a process, there will be ups and downs, we'll get better" after we lose, he basically gives a pass to the team. This "onto the next one" mentality, downgrading regular season, It's all about playoffs means you are delaying the solve your problems and they get bigger in the playoffs. It creates toxic enviroment throughout the season.

MJ would throw P-Jackson infront of a moving Train, Kobe did curse Shaq for this mentality. Kawhi needs to realize and be more vocal. This along with coaching are literally biggest problems of this team.
2023 Clippers W/L Count (51-31)
(Russ at bench 42-15)
without PG13 3-3
Without Kawhi 7-4
Without Russ 6-6

100%? He doesn't even deserve the majority of the blame. This chokejob was almost entirely on Doc and Trez.
