No, this means that Donovan likes the roster and the vision of AK and he wants to use the #4 pick to add to the young nucleus and help develop him into a franchise cornerstone.

No, this means neither of us actually know.

He has a track record in player development, he thrived with a young OKC team last season and he just signed on with one of the youngest teams in the league with a top 5 draft pick, a FO that came from a team that loved using their draft picks to form the nucleus of their team and has talked about doing do with the Bulls as well.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to put together the crumbs.

You left out the fact that the reason he became available was that he wasn’t interested in a rebuild with the Thunder, my boy.

I'm still reeling from seeing Nurkic and Harris be the 2 players I wanted in the draft snatched away from me for McDermott.

Tank, he didn't want to undergo coaching through a tank.

Holy Crap! I can't believe we got him. It is a new era in Chicago Bulls basketball. Fantastic hire. So excited for next season.

Joakim Noah for big man coach.

An obvious upgrade over Boylen though so I'm still excited for next season.

He is a very good coach, it’s just that the team excelled in spite of their roster as a whole considering depth, their best player being 35 and injury prone and aside from paul had no star. This year for the okc was to trade away westbrook for an aging former star and tank for draft picks and that didn’t happen because donovan still put veterans and young players in a position to succeed. He motivated a tanking roster to compete and excelled in spite of itself.

At least everyone here seems to agree he is far and away a better coach than boylen.

I'd take on CP3's salary if we aren't giving up a ton. I think Lavine, WCJ, Lauri would thrive next to him.

We'll see if he's the right guy or not after 2-3 seasons.

What I like is that he's got NBA head coaching experience. It's been a long long time since they hired Scott Skiles and before him it was Stan Albeck 85-86. I mean that's a lot of first time hires.

Just my initial opinion is, this means they're keeping the majority of the roster they have, no house cleaning. Still moving Thad Young, probably staying at #4 and seeing what the young core players can do if healthy. The word being, we now have an experienced winning coach, you've got a year to get with his program, step up or we'll ship you out. And if they need to make changes 2021 is draft, free agency and trading time.

They just made the second round as a 5th seed in the west? How exactly are they going to just start tanking? They’ll get rid of CP3 but that team is already talented and they won’t be tanking, they’re going to rebuild the roster and give they keys to the younger guys, but no ones tanking in OKC. That team is better off than ours right now.

I’m for trading for cp3. We would have to offer porter and young or sato to make the contracts work. I’m for it as long as we don’t give up any first round picks considering we are still rebuilding.

People keep saying rebuild but the rumored plan was to trade CP3, Adams, move on from Gallinari, Roberson and gather assets and young players.

CP3 makes 41 mil next season, Adams 27. They have a ton of cap tied up in them they want to lose.

Yeah him and Coby are also super close. Would be a nice 2 year window before Coby takes over. Although it sounded like they think Billy is going to make us a player in free agency and CP3 could kill that (even if it’s not realistic to begin with to get one of the top guys)

They want CP3 and Adams moved. Gallinari is a UFA they plan to allow to leave. Roberson is as well. That team is going to look a lot different next season if they can find a taker for Paul.

Geez AK really keeps his cards close to his chest. Has Donovan even been mentioned in serious links to us? He wasn’t even on the supposed short list a few days ago.

It’s like only a couple of people actually know what’s going on in there with no leaks. Impressive.

They lost in the first round, and it makes a lot of sense to tank in the West next year. Every team in the West will be good next year, so it’s a great year to tank.
