I wouldn’t trade Donte unless it’s for a big time piece, like top 3 on the team next to Giannis/Khris type guy. Not gonna get too down on him based on his bubble play, dude was awesome for most of the year before the bubble. He’ll bounce back.

He showed a lot of ability to break guys down off the dribble in a complementary role, and his finishing should improve. I also firmly believe his shot will come around. It would be an awful time to trade him. It was basically his rookie year. I think he busts out big time next year, and he is capable of bringing some desperately needed balance to the team. His energy and motion and instincts are what they need more of, not what they should be trading away in a short-sighted deal. He's got the hard part down and just has to get a little better at finishing plays.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

I don't know what you'd need to do salary wise to get it done, but if you can somehow end up with a Top-7 rotation of:
CP3
Reddick/DDV
Middleton/Wes
Giannis
Lopez
Then who wouldn't feel pretty damn great about that core of guys going into the playoffs? Add an athletic, plus-defender combo-guard or versatile wing, and I don't see a whole lotta flaws in that roster if they're all healthy. That's the dream offseason for me right now.

Definitely understand going for the more proven guys, but if looking for one of those young dudes who hasn't blown up yet:
MKE In: Sexton, Osman, DAJ
Out: Bled, DJ, 24
BKN In: Bled, DJ, 2nd
Out: Dinwiddie, DAJ, TLC
Cle In: Dinwiddie, TLC, 24
Out: Sexton, Osman, 2nd
Sign Burks or Moore and try for Giles.
Sexton/Hill
DDV/Burks or Moore/Wes
Mids/Osman/Wes
Giannis/Giles
Brook/DAJ/Giles

Trying to find a "diamond in the rough" is how we ended up with Middleton as a throw in. I'm all for taking a shot at someone who may explode at some point. Not easy to find of course. And I still think we need to make a major move or two. And maybe those moves will include another throw-in Middleton.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Definitely, Sexton was the first that came to mind but he isn't the only one. In this scenario I wonder if CLE then tries to get GS to bite on Love/24 for Wiggins/2.

Leaves you with:
CP3/Schroeder
Wes/Donte
Khris/FA
Giannis/FA
Brook/Robin
New to messing around with the trade machines so don’t be too brutal
Who could we realistically target in FA? Gallo, Grant or Crowder maybe?
I tend to think Grant and Crowder will stay with their respective teams if the best they can do is our MLE. Would love to have Grant though.
Gallo seems a little more realistic though he could end up being a guy that one of the teams with cap space gives a big 1 year contract to. I don't know.
Some of the options I think might be possibilities are Alec Burks, Reggie Jackson, Trey Burke, Derrick Jones Jr., or if we want to take a swing on a younger guy, maybe Josh Jackson (though it's been a bumpy ride for him so far). Cheaper options would be Denzel Valentine, Jevon Carter, Shaq Harrison, or Svi Mykhailiuk IMO.

I bolded the parts I don't necessarily agree with. I know we've talked about finishing already. That's one area where he should be good but just isn't. It will improve, but to the level we need it to be?
And I never got his shooting outlook some had. He's got a quick trigger but besides one year in college there isn't much evidence that he'll be a plus shooter. Probably ups his career 3% to 35% eventually.
I like Donte a lot and will value him like that in proposals, but I don't view him as untouchable in the slightest. Also I don't necessarily see how his value can only go up. Give him another nagging injury and other teams will stay away cause he's never fit.
If someone offers me the equivalent value of a top 10 pick in a trade I'd trade Donte. If we're talking late first I'd hang up the phone. Something in between I'd try to find a way to keep Donte.

A playoff rotation of
CP3/Schroeder
Donte/Wes
Khris/Gallo
Giannis/Gallo
Brook/Giannis
Would be pretty great imo, getting CP3 and Gallo would help us win now, keeping Donte and getting Schroeder insures we still have some talent that isn’t in their middle 30’s

The trade is so far away from matching salaries it's bonkers.

Realizing that now, I’ve used the ESPN trade machine and one other one. The other one was showing it as successful

Cleveland is loaded with young guards, would be curious if any were available. I’d be more interested in Garland.

Also not a bad choice. My thinking was they'd be more amenable to moving Sexton since his next contract is closer.

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - OFF SEASON EDITION
I could see Brook Lopez bringing in solid value if the Bucks decide to go in a different direction.
Not sure how likely that is. But it makes a lot of other trade scenarios possible if only due to the salary slot.
Teams that don't already have the DPOY might value BroLo more than the Bucks do.
That would particularly be the case if we want to move Giannis to the 5 spot.
Or do we think Giannis having BroLo as a heady defender is more valuable than what we'd likely be able to bring in?

I hadn't thought of Cleveland before now. Either of those guys could be much cheaper options to try and acquire someone before he breaks out big time. Big salary match issues are gone then too. Yes, it would require them probably moving on too quickly from recent high picks. But Cle usually isn't smart and those two guys do overlap quite a bit in skillsets so it is logical to possibly split them up, especially if they have their eyes on another G in this draft(assuming they have a high pick). Maybe there's a poor contract we could take back too to help.
Resident Lillard truther since 2015.

Sexton played more SG than PG last season, and was outstanding over his last 20 games or so. However, I don't think he fits the goal of "improved decision makers".

Re: Bucks News, Trade Ideas, Transactions - OFF SEASON EDITION
I think first we must understand what we need and then see what we can get so in my opinion we need to upgrade both our guard starters first and off the bench add one that can create offence, a deadly shooter, and probably a player who can play both as a PF and small ball C, so 5 new players
or
bring an all star player in any position who can shoot except the PF and then look for the bench and what else you need to do.
I dont see any all star player coming without as offering Khris so what is the point?
Players i look that i know they are free agents or available for trade.
PG
Schroder
Van Vleet
Paul
Goran Dragic
SG
Hardaway
Bogdanovic
Any combination i m fine with for our 2 guards positions.
Scorer off the bench
Jordan Clarkson
Shooter of the bench
Bertans
Harris
Burks
PF/C
I don't know any cheap and good player, maybe Jeff Green (?)
Ibaka ( not posible but anyway)
Not hat i want but the easier to get
Schroder/ Bogdanovic/ Clarkson/ Burks/ Green
I speak only about free agents or players we know that they are available. I don't know all of them too so just an idea about what i believe we need.

I know he’s 34, but what if we gave Dragic like a three year full MLE? Makes the Heat way worse, makes us much better.
