Glad to see this post after reading your harsh take on PJ in the first page of this thread, but it does make sense based on just his freshman year. You called him closer to a non-prospect then a lottery pick. He's even looked surprisingly good as an NBA rookie.

PJ wasn't even that bad his FS year, had a +9 Net Rating, 18 PER. 58 TS% and shot 52% from the floor...was clearly a net + player for Cal his FS year, he just started hitting his 3s and FTs his sophomore yr

There are players to leave everything for and it proves your acumen and Clyde, you did your thing with Herro but I was most impressed with with ripcity. I will keep my eye on you in the future

I still see Herro as a roleplayer. He’s never going to be an all-star type player.

Depends on your definition of role player. Guys dont peak at 20, and his offensive arsenal lends me to believe he will become good enough to be a #3 option on a team competing for a ring. I see a guy that can have a Manu like impact on offense as he matures, but wont ever be the defender (Manu was so underrated on defense, career 2.0 DBPM for a swing is just objectively elite)

absolutely not reason why Herro can't be an all-star at some point with his trajectory

what's stopping him?

The competition in the east at the guard position could be tough but I think he's the next Mark Price so we will see

"an All-Star game" isn't that high of a bar to set

Korver made one and he's never even averaged 15ppg

Herro has been pretty good. Could be best player from the draft.

Even though he's technically a rookie, this is really year two for Herro, and boy do I like what I see. He had a Mark Price jump but obviously bigger than Price as he was better as a rookie.

From back in April 2019, in a post made on the Minnesota subforum:

Klomp wrote:Man, just looking at the list of first round prospects to come out of Kentucky is pretty impressive. Not only the stars (Towns, Davis, Cousins, Wall, Booker), but good role players too (Cauley-Stein, Bledsoe, Randle, Lyles, Noel). Even the young guys from the past three classes (Murray, Fox, Knox, Gilgeous-Alexander) are looking to be on the right track. Not all of them were even stars for the Wildcats.

That's a really good track record that would give me confidence if the team decided to draft Tyler Herro, PJ Washington or Keldon Johnson.

Just realized I didn't even include Adebayo anywhere in that post....

Looking at him, I'm surprised he measured just 6'4.5 in shoes and 192 lbs with the tiny wingspan at the combine, but he was 18 or 19 then. Right now, I'm guessing he's 6'7 (at least) with shoes and around 210 lbs - which he'll add on to over the years. The sky is the limit for him - well, the sky below Doncic anyway. Yeah, he was probably set up in a near perfect situation in Miami, but this kid would succeed anywhere. Phenominal performance last night - and he could have had a bunch more assists if Iggy could/would shoot. Man, that was fun to watch.

Calipari is just the best NBA scout out there. Almost all his guys find success in the league. Hagans would be a major steal in the mid 2nd round hopefully to the Hawks. I can see an Avery Bradley type of career and game.

Reminds me somewhat of a smaller D-Book tbh. might be a good idea for him to return to school tho given that this is a strong SG class.

Well played. I gave you props on the GB - not that you care. Great call on Herro

Don't believe he's grown at all. His last height growth spurt was from junior to senior year when he got up to his current height. He looks the exact same to me in that regard now. I'm sure he's added a few pounds over the course of the season as his upper body has more bulk and definition but I'd be surprised if he was 200lbs.

I could be wrong about his weight, but I'd bet the mortgage he's at least right around 6'7 even though that goes against the last measurements - where they actually lowered his listed height from 6'6 to 6'5. Then again, almost the entire team had their listed heights lowered - guessing that's because the new heights are without shoes. Anyway, I can't believe he's only 2 inches taller than Dragic... or that he's 2 inches shorter than Duncan Robinson and Jimmy Butler.
