Jokic? I got something for you. Ion know how u can hate on Tatum but stan hard for Jokic when Tatum better as a 22 year old. Lol. Ain’t nothing bout being a “xenophobe” when Tatum putting up numbers that only Kobe and Bron did at the same age bro. That’s a lazy take
Bro I said it’s hot take for a reason, I was just being provocative. I know there’s plenty of reasons to like Tatum, although I do think my point is valid for some people like SAS, who notoriously hates Euros and is scrambling to hype up any rising American star.
In all seriousness, you can make the case for Tatum for the reasons you mentioned, I just don’t see him as a Kobe/Bron level-talent. He’s an excellent all-around player and the production is great but I don’t think he has the creativity or the basketball genius to become a true superstar. He still has room to grow, obviously, but his game is a little too mechanical or methodical to be that future MVP-level talent imo. He might be better than all of them now, but I think guys like Trae, Book and Zion have a higher upside.
He’s special. My point was that he’s not that special.
I still think it’s a lazy take. Cause I’ve seen plenty of people who love Euro players and think Tatum is a super star. I mean I even think Luka is the real deal and Giannis in my eyes is the most dominant player since Shaq. I also love Murray, another player you mentioned. It has nothing to do with being “xenophobia”. I’m even calling for the Knicks to draft Killian Hayes. We just think Tatum is legit. That’s all it is. Call it personal preference. But xenophobia is a reach bro.
I wasn’t calling you that, I know you’re solid. I really had SAS and the likes in mind, and overgeneralized in a facetious manner. But I understand and respect that you want to make that clear to defend your character. So apologies if you felt compelled to do that because I made you feel like I put you in that box.
About game, Tatum is most definitely legit and a star. I guess we project his ceiling differently, and that’s cool.
