Current projections have him going in the second round. We'll have to see if the Celtics value him enough to take with one of their late first round picks.

I see 34% from 3 and 37% from the floor, 160lbs, can you tell us more about why you’re high on him in particular, 100proof?

Other interesting bigs that should be available at picks 26 and 30: Isaiah Stewart, Reggie Perry, and Zeke Nnaji. I favor Isaiah Stewart who is 6'9", 250lbs, and has a 7'4" wingspan. He is seriously built, very strong, and has a good touch around the basket. Similar to Xavier Tillman, he has a high motor, and is dinged for "lack of explosiveness" and perimeter play. Good rebounder and defensive positioning. Considering the quality of players available at picks 26 and 30, perhaps it is not unreasonable to think we could trade all three first round picks to Detroit for pick #7.

He is now 180 pounds. Put on weight during covid.

He has a lightning quick release and range out to trae young distance. A smooth as silk jumper.

Percentages in college be damned. Kids a shooter.

This season he was 41% from 3 on 10per game.

Takes too many midrange jumpers at times, and his size at 160 allowed him to get knocked around in the paint keeping him from finishing through contact.

Kid can shoot the three.

Smart/Brown/Tatum/Jalen Smith/Williams.

That would be so nasty defensively.

I'm just the messenger here, lol. I don't see Wiseman going 2nd either.
CHA could trade out if they don't want Ball. 8 & future first or something.

Hard to watch the NBA this year and conclude that you should use a high pick on a big man. I see him dropping.

Agreed. Semi-related..... I feel the same way about all the short scoring point guards. How are they gonna be any more playable then Kemba? Our D has been wrecked by the Heat hunting him out. He's dropping 20/game, but is at best neutral, if not a negative out there. And he's putting in great effort, it's not like he's dogging it on D or anything. He's just too short and light.

For me, any of the Lewis, Maxey, Anthony, Terry group would have to be legit elite on offense to justify the pick. If they end up Dame, great. But if not, you're talking ride them when they're hot off the bench as long as the abuse down the other end isn't too bad territory during the playoffs. And most guys aren't Dame. RJ has the size at least, maybe one of the other dudes is strong enough to be like a Lowry and stay out there. I dunno.

Am I wrong here?

Yes, youre wrong in the sense that Maxey is 6’3 with a 6’6 or 6’7 wingspan and thus fundamentally different from Kemba. But no, youre not wrong in the sense of the rules pertaining to the archetype— its one of the reasons I advocate to bring Kemba off the bench and start Smart at PG.

True, Kemba is tinier. I'm not sure I'd feel too much better about any of them on Butler (or playoff team X stud), though. Depends on strength. If you give up a few inches but can't be bodied down, that's one thing. If you're a stick, it don't matter. Maxey is probably my favorite of the group just cuz he seems the longest/strongest - and KY guards have been doing OK in the NBA lately.

right? AD, Bam and Jokic are dime a dozen. As are Embid, Ayton, KAT, JJJ, Porzingis and Gobert. Too funny. When you have the opportunity to draft a skilled big and you are in the Eastern Conference, especially, where there aren't any besides Embid, you'd be stupid to pass on the two legit studs at the top of this draft.

Sleeper of the draft Tyrell Terry out of Stanford.

pure scorer. he reminds of Trae Young. He needs to improved defensive standpoint.

With Kemba getting abused on defense, and Portland's high scoring, but forever no defensive team losing every year early, I want no part of a small, weaker defensively PG. and that included Trae Young.. One reason why I like Haliburton. Enoug size and length for switch-ability on both offense and defense

Ayo for all the good work we’ve been doing becoming draft experts this is a depressing reminder that we’re 99% drafting Cole Anthony...
