However, the longer I'm watching them, the more I'm convinced that we have to leave this draft with Elleby and Skylar Mays. Those two are way too underrated in this draft.

According to mocks I've seen, both of them should be available in the 2nd. I'd love to come away w/4 young prospects like Terry, Bey, Elleby, and Mays from this draft, then it wouldn't hurt so much to trade away our 1st next year in a Chris Paul deal.

Sadly it will never happen because Joshua needs to pay for his yacht more than he needs guys like Mays or Elleby.

The more information I get on Ty-Shon Alexander, the more I'm thinking he's going to be drafted earlier than expected. He nearly passes my smell test 100% (5.8 OBPM, 1.9 DBPM just short of 2, 2.2 STL%, 12.3 AST%) but a deeper dive offers better numbers defensively, where he appears deficient:

He also has a 6'8 wingspan and shot exceptionally well this past year. Feels like a guy who could surprise as a first rounder that no one was expecting.

Another note worth considering in head to head matchups:

Markus Howard: 13 pts 4/14 (28% FG) & 18 pts on 6/16 (37.5% FG)
Myles Powell: 15 pts 6/13 (46% FG) & 12 pts on 3/16 (18% FG)

Those are two of the best scorers in the nation and he locked their asses up.

Your guy Mason Jones is also #2 overall on this list, two spots ahead of Alexander. Is Jones an underrated defender?

I think he's a really good off ball defender. Has extremely high IQ. I don't know how well the IQ will hold up at the next level where everyone is good and he's a pretty pedestrian athlete.

After watching basically zero pre-march madness college basketball and then some youtubes last year and successfully predicting the Sixers taking Thybulle, this year the Sixers will take the Stanford guard.

A Terry, Bey, Elleby type haul would be a near Miami type revitalization for this franchise. Needing a key Butler type trade also though...

Your response ruined the formatting of this thread on my screen. RealGM conspiring against Mason Jones lol.

I think IQ always holds up. The question is if he has the physical baseline to stay on the floor. I'm going to assume with a hard core NBA training program he can get into better shape and become slightly more athletic. If we had the training program of the Miami Heat I'd be 100% confident of it.

Even if he can't play in the playoffs, we need guys who can space the floor and score points in the regular season to stack wins for homecourt advantage.

Not expecting a lockdown defender with a late 2nd so I'm more than willing to roll the dice on his offensive game + defensive IQ.

Right now he's the guy I want with #57.

On a high level /strategic look at this draft, it appears to be heavy with talent at point guard or combo guard, and weak for wings and bigs. Ideally we bring in 4 guard prospects and just hope a numbers game yields 2 rotation players. I'd stay far away from reaching for need to take a wing or a big.

I think my spoiler tag was off. Kinda funny how easy it is to blow up the formatting.

Yea, I mean, if he had the athleticism of even a Jah'mius Ramsey, we'd be talking about a lottery pick. But he's the type of guy that makes me feel fine moving on from Shake if we can sell high on him. There aren't many guys who has the comfort of shooting like this in the draft:

He will go to PHX at 10 unless someone trades up. No insider knowledge just a gut feeling.

I have zero confidence in this clown show front office to have good draft intelligence.

If Hinkie was still here, I bet he would KNOW which team wants to take Tyrell Terry in front of us, and would therefore know what he had to do to jump them.

Whereas our current "brain trust" has zero clue.

If Tyrell is 6'3 with some weight put on, he won't be there when we pick.

Do we even have a dedicated scouting team? How did we let Brett Brown take over an entire draft after watching exactly zero minutes of college basketball in 2018

Brett and Joshua were wheelin and dealin during the 2018 draft! Passed on SGA, passed on MPJ, drafted Mikal Bridges who would be a perfect wing for us and shipped him for a SG sized PF they believe will be the next Kawhi who almost died, along w/"star hunting" ammo which allowed them to put together a massive package for Tobias Harris! Brilliant!

I'm still having trouble wrapping my head around it, but it appears that R.J. Hampton could very well fall to the 20s. He's the pick we need to make, IMO. And I wouldn't waste time second-guessing it.

Elite athlete shotcreator that can d it up on the other end. Legit chance to reach superstardom.

Yeah he’s one of my favorites that are available in our range. I really hate picking behind Miami and feel like they’ll end up taking who ever it is we want with the pick before us.

How is his jumper? I thought I read a report that he has a strange form and it isn't very consistent.
