A trade for Gordon would likely have to include our pick. Aminu is clearly on a negative contract and if Fournier opts in, that means he is on a negative deal. Similarly to Conley, if a player opts in that is a player friendly deal and not team friendly. If it wasn't, they would opt out and get a better deal. Essentially it's an exchange of spoiled goods, and as much as Jazz fans are down on Conley, I still think he has a higher status/value than we give him credit for.

I'd honestly be willing to trade Bogey for him. But we could maybe do a Conley deal as well. Conley for Gordon+Fournier or Gordon+Aminu. I'm not sure what Gordon's value is at this point, but I really like those ideas. If we are able to turn Conley into Gordon and another rotation player, we're suddenly not that thin...especially at the wing position.

That would mean we're not dead in the water if Clarkson leaves, and if he stays we have the luxury of using the MLE on a C or PG which would fill out the roster nicely.

I believe that Isaac is not playing next year due to a knee injury. While I would prefer Gordon to Randle (although they are probably in the same general tier), I doubt that the Magic trade him this year. They also have Fultz as their PG of future.

Any Conley deal with the magic would have to be a 3 way deal while I think they would have interest in a Bogey for Gordon deal straight up.

BTW Rudy again earns First Team All-D and Third Team All-NBA honors.

That guy is a killer. This is right there with choosing George Hill over Jrue Holiday (which was more forgivable given that Hill worked out too well).

Hell, if we could have just gotten CP3 or Shroeder instead of Conley we'd have been in a much better spot.

Yes, Butler would have been the perfect fit, but I can see why the Jazz likely never seriously pursued him. The first time Butler was available was in fall '2018. He was on an expiring contract, sitting out games and demanding a trade from the Timberwolves. He named three teams he wanted to be traded to --- the Knicks, the Nets and the Clippers, all of which were in big markets. So in addition to looking like he was he a difficult personality to keep happy, it looked like he really wanted to play in a big market.

The next time he was available was summer 2019 as a free agent. And though Butler and Philly had just taken Toronto to seven games and the last basket before losing the playoff round, Kawhi Leonard, who I assume was mostly guarded by Butler, averaged 35 ppg on 53% shooting, along with 9.9 rebs and 4 assists during that series, well above Kawhi's regular season averages. So it kind of looked like Butler was not a championship difference maker.

Finally, I doubt we could have beat out Miami in a battle for free agent Butler. Miami had the advantages of championship pedigree, big attractive market and no state income tax.

Kudos to Spoelstra and Riley for the great job they did rebuilding the Heat.

Well deserved for Rudy!

3rd team Simmons is a joke, and Tatum is also questionable, but Gobert getting his due respect is nice to see.

Someone I really like for Utah if we move off of Conley is Derrick White. I think he'd be the perfect compliment to Mitchell. Not sure how it would happen.

Random stats: Jae Crowder is leading Miami in three point attempts and makes in the playoffs on 40.4% shooting. Normally I would expect Crowder to go in to a cold streak to regress towards his career averages, but he also hit threes at 44.5% on 6.4 attempts/game during his 20 game regular season with Miami, so he might just keep going at a relatively high percentage with Miami this season. With Robinson, Hero and Dragic all commanding a lot of attention at the three point line, Crowder is getting a lot of wide open looks.

Any interest in Conley for the Clippers Trio or somehow adding Smart? He'd be great next to Donovan, non ball dominant, good defender.

Is that Bev, Harrell, and Your Name Here? We don’t have assets for Smart, should have drafted him.

They are rumored to be trading them for a reason....... Harrell isn't any good in the playoffs, and Jackson and Williams are done......

Anybody notice how Kantcer is once again unplayable in the playoffs?

It's probably just his meanie coach treating him unfairly. Or maybe the team is just trying to hold back his value so they can get him on a cheaper contract.

I look forward to the next time he switches teams so that we can hear again how this time is gonna be different and Anes is going to be a force to be reckoned with.

Kinda sad when the only joy a Jazz fan can have is making fun of Enes Kanter because our team failed so miserably.

Oops. Crowder now doing his best to prove me wrong and regress toward his career averages. In the last three games since I posted this, Crowder has shot 7-31, 22.6% overall and 22.2% from three. Hopefully he will get hot again. If the Heat make it to Finals, they are going to need him to knock down threes at a respectable rate.

Meanwhile waiting for an update on the status of Bam Adebayo. He finished the game last night in a significant amount of pain.

Sad but true... granted I think we make it to the conference finals with a healthy bogey. We need Oni or Brantley to take a huge step at this point.

Do you think we could get Hayward back for 15-18 mill per year in a sign and trade for Ingles?

The way the Jazz fans treated Gordon, and worse his wife, on his way out, never ever in a million years would he come back to play.

His wife also brought some of it on herself and Gordon prolonged his departure, there were faults on both sides. In Utah he’s at least a 3rd option.

Lol. Our team failed miserably and okc failed miserably and New York failed miserably and Portland failed miserably and now Boston failed miserably.

Kinda sad how some people go out of their way to stick to their guns rather than admit maybe they were wrong, even with mountains of evidence to look at.

Thank you for proving my point though, that no matter how much Kanter gets the same treatment everywhere he goes, the fans who were so sure Enes got a raw deal in Utah will continue to insist he just hasn't found the right opportunity.
