I remember Ham as a rebounder. Wasn't he around the time we couldn't afford to keep Roundfield?OnFire wrote:Scoot McGroot wrote:OnFire wrote:https://behindthebuckpass.com/2020/09/26/milwaukee-bucks-rumors-darvin-ham-get-second-interview-pacers/

He played one game for us in the early to kid 90’s. We traded Jerome Allen for him. Classic 90’s SG that can’t shoot.

Maybe I'm thinking about another player. Could be a senior moment.Scoot McGroot wrote:Wizop wrote:I remember Ham as a rebounder. Wasn't he around the time we couldn't afford to keep Roundfield?OnFire wrote:

Rivers out so his assistants are in play.

I know Cassell has been getting mentions some places. I'd be hesitant to pick off the "Rivers coaching tree." When the head of it is a mediocre to bad coach, it doesn't say much about the rest.

I would imagine Lue gets heavy consideration for the job there.

Re: Who Should Be The Next Coach?
I'm not sure how I feel about Pacers players expressing their preference for a "player's coach"
Obviously it'll depend on what their definition of a "players coach" is
I hope it's not them wanting someone who will just tolerate players showing up late for practise

I think you need to read this together with Nate saying that a mentor of his taught him to ignore the players personal concerns. I'm repeating that from memory as a quick look at recent articles in the Star didn't come up with his exact words, but I hope you get the point.

Well, that'll depend on what those personal concerns are, won't it
I hope it's not something like being concerned that their girlfriends are not allowed to fly together with the team, or something diva like that
Of course, none of them strike me as a diva, so hopefully it's nothing like that

That hasn’t appeared to be any sort of a Hope foe the players. They want someone that will coach with them, not just drop down from their office for practice and game and then run back to The office and leave them be, is what it most appears. I think they want someone who will talk with them, understand them, and help manage them, and guide them how to help manage themselves.

I hope this is the case. I feel this is the case, too
Myles' haphazard development is pretty much Exhibit A, that his coach hasn't really provided him with the guidance thay he needs
I'd be disappointed if I were him

Agreed. In fairness to Nate, it probably did suit Vic and Sabonis in terms of what they needed for development. They’re athletic guys that are smart players and able to figure stuff out. But the rest needed more guidance. And hopefully, you get a coach that can do both, just like you hope you can get a coach that can adjust his coaching and coach some different styles.

Wow, the Sixers coaching search changed on a dime. Have to think Philly is excited to get Doc instead of Lue now.

What about Dave Joerger? He did a pretty good job in Memphis and Sacramento. He coaches tough defense and fast paced offense.
