Predict the Celtics Roster Move this Offseason

Post#1 » by asero » Mon Sep 28, 2020 2:46 am

Basically they are tight. The only option is to move Kemba or Hayward but that would still not create Cap Space.
So how to you see Danny Ainge mind going?

umm.. you think there's a market for either of their contracts?

Why not just let the players grow and get better? They have a young, fantastic core.

I like Hayward as a player but there were times where the Celtics didn't look right while he was in the game. Hard to picture him leaving though with that massive player ption

Boston cannot move Hayward on pennies on the dollar. Best bet is to make minor changes and hope the young team ages better next year.

Boston was a top East team. Ainge will keep the team as set and hope Hayward recovers better over the summer and they draft well.

Kemba, Tatum, Brown is a good trio. Get a better center or hope for the rise of The Tacko.

If you include Smart and draft picks, it might work

I would look to add a few vets to round out their bench. They are obviously close.

dump Hayward, add a pure shooter on the wing.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

Trading the Soul of the team’s defense would not be wise.
And Ainge never trades picks. He will sit with Hayward than sell pennies on the dollar.

Their cap situation is tough. They might have the MLE available most likely, but not enough difference maker for that kind of contract. They definitely need to upgrade their big man situation.

Easily need to look over our big men position and as well as the bench. Need some vets as well who can provide leadership and instill a hard-nose mentality on the guys much like Udonis Haslem did.

They are capped out but if you are a contender (and they are) you can add depth for cheap. LeBron has been doing it for 15 years.

MLE will easily net them a rotation piece.

Of course.. you got the Knicks scrub franchise, hit up Orlando they always down to do stupid crap, same with Chicago, Suns, etc... always a market.

If I’m Ainge I package Kemba + #14, #26, #30, #47, 1R in 21’, to Cleveland for Drummond.

Leaves you w:

Smart
Brown
Hayward
Tatum
Drummond

Minimal at best...add some depth. Kemba is going nowhere

Yeah they might get a serviceable piece. They also have picks #14, 26, and 30 in this draft (which may be bit of a crapshoot) to add rotation quality players. Either way, they need to upgrade over Theis. I think they have enough wings.

That’s an awful lot to give up for 1 year of Drummond (who’s not much of a player IMO).

Yeah it just seems like they need some more depth tbh. Like others have said they have a great young core. They're going to be a force to be reckoned with in the seasons coming for sure.

Sign and trade Gordon Hayward (4y/100), Edwards, Wannamaker for Otto Porter(4yr/80) and Dunn (3yr/20).

Hayward was terrific when he wasn’t injured this season. It always took him a week or 2 to get back into form post those injuries he had this year so I wasn’t surprised he was average against the Heat.

This was Kembas first year with the team and first deep playoff run. He’ll grow from this as will the rest of the team.

Tatum/Brown/Smart all made massive leaps this playoffs.

Theis is obviously the weak link. He’s a great player but probably suited to a backup role.

I’d love to somehow get Ibaka to play the starting C. I think he’d fit perfectly with this team.
