Yea, they probably should've given him more shots, he did shoot over .500 from the field in the series and might've been our best player.
Good assessment:

I still can't believe this has happened. The Jimmy Butler revenge tour has made it to the finals with one road block left.

Boston did very well in this series. Smart and Brown are real stalwarts for the team going forward with Tatum continuing to improve.

Sorry Boston, but this one image may sum up the series:

Agree with that. Glad to have him and Tatum on the team and locked up for many years to come.

Well, maybe. You couldn't play man with Dragic, Robinson and Herro. But the Heat will probably play the zone again vs LAL cause LBJ will go at these guys and punish them if it's man. LAL hasn't been too great shooting the 3 either, so the zone should be utilized even more.

I don't see superstar in Tatum. Very solid player that is a fringe all-star in the weak East.

This is true. You could argue that Brown and Smart both had better series. Their two vets were not good tho - Hayward and Walker.

You have to hand it to Boston fans and their team.

In the past, Boston has had some hatable teams( as i imagine you could say about the LeBron Heat teams) , but this Boston team has a ton of class and very likable.

There is so much talent in Boston, I am really stuck thinking I don't think Miami could have gone though Boston in a normal year when they have home court advantage.

To be fair - if it was a normal year, Boston might not have gotten past Toronto since they also had homecourt.

To be Blunt.......

Not everyone can do to Miami what Boston did to Miami.

Boston's perimeter defense is unbelievably good. They suffocate the 3 point line better then any other team i have seen. Miami had pretty darn good shooters, and Boston shut them down for long ass stretches in this series.

With Miami you don't have to shut down 1 guy, or two guys...or even 3 guys. There are a lot of guys that can hurt you from the 3, and Boston can actually do that. Boston can contest just about every shot from outside.

On top of that, on defense you have so many dudes on Boston who facilitate. The ball comes from all over the place.

I don't think Miami will have those same trouble against LA.

There will be new challenges for sure, but Boston was the harder team to beat in several ways.

I am happy with the team, hats off to Miami though.

Great gameplan, exploit their shooter, hard team to beat.

Go heat!

against Miami
26.5 ppg
10 rpg
6.5 apg
1.5 spg
1.5 bpg

and he didnt shoot as good as he normally does thanks to the excellent defensive effort to the Miami Heat team.

Playoffs as a whole:
26 ppg
10 rpg
5 apg
1 spg
1.2 bpg

how is that just a solid player/fringe allstar.

Know how many players put up 25, 10 and 5 in the playoffs this season?
3.
Lebron - 26.5, 10, 9
Giannis - 26.5, 14, 5.5
Tatum - 25.5, 10, 5

That was just a terrible take.

Incredible show from the Heat this year. What a fun team to watch and root for. No one complains, no one elevates themselves above the other, everyone gives maximum effort, and they all play the right way on both ends of the floor.

I love what Boston has built and disagree with those saying Taytum isn't a borderline superstar. And JB really impressed me too with his poise. Just a really great team and, apart from Marcus, really likable too. Stevens is a great and classy coach.

They've got a great future, it just happened that the Heat's veteran experience and conditioning gave them the edge this time, so no need to hang your head if you're a Celtic fan. In my opinion, if they can find a way to get Hayward outta there for some more veteran depth at the 1 and 4 positions (and develop the Williams guys), they should be competing for Finals appearances for years to come.

Yeah I don’t think we’re winning that game 7 in Toronto if it played out like that.

See y’all for Game 7 Wednesday.

Makes sense that this was your last post of the night. Shows that calling a game with 9 minutes left in the 4th, up 6, isn't a smart thing to do.

But that was a great series. This has been a dream run by the Heat. Definitely comparable to the 2004 Pistons run or the 8th seeded knicks making the finals.

Touché, and I’m glad the Heat won. My intention was sorta a reverse-jinx in a way. Happy to be wrong - that massive turnaround spurred by Bam going HAM was incredible.

I enjoyed how smart flopped right into Kemba’s way and tripped him up causing a turnover with about 4 minutes left.
