Re-sign Ibaka

Draft Tillman and Mane

Sign Gallinari using the MLE on a 3 year deal

Ibaka/Tillman/Gasol(10M/1year)
Siakam/OG
Gallinari/OG
Dipo/Powell
Lowry/Davis

That playoff rotation would have got it done for Toronto this year to get to the finals. Dipo is the exact kind of scorer you need in the halfcourt. The chances of going far with the group above is higher than waiting on Giannis who will most likely consider Miami and other destinations.

I'm also a big believer in Gallinari he's forced 2 winning seasons along with CP3 in OKC and on his own last year in LA. He's a big forward that can shoot extremely well, he's an under the radar candidate I hope Masai goes for. Just adding Gallinari would have been enough to put us over the top this year.

Gallo is not taking the MLE. He is going to get paid this off season.

By who? He's turning 32 next season and has had injury concerns.

Vanvleet sign and trade? Oladipo is not the same player anymore

I would be very interested in Turner, he could be a legit star in Toronto

Averaged 18/5/2 last year as a focal point on overachieving Thunder. His game should translate well the next few years as it isn't revolved around athleticism but skill and shooting ability. He gets at least $10M-$15M.

If Danny Green got 15M, Gallo should easily.

I think if you sign & trade FVV for Oladipo then you could still get Giannis
Oladipo is a free agent after next season, so the Raps would still have the flexibility to add Giannis.

Raps could rent Oladipo for a year and then he could be a backup plan if Giannis doesnt sign here.

The cap gymnastics would be hard but that's what you pay Webster the big bucks for.

Dipo is another sales pitch to Giannis. We sign Giannis and then go in to the tax to sign Dipo assuming we get his bird rights in a trade for him. The key to rounding out a roster like that is being able to move off salary and nailing your picks/development pieces.

A Giannis/Dipo at 80-90%/Siakam core is a perennial title contender.

I don't know about you guys but I'm in the place where we just let FVV walk and just sign two free agents with Giannis being one of them and let him choose who he wants to play with in the free agency pool.

It’s begun. I’m going to speak a FVV sign-and-trade for Oladipo into existence.

We can load manage Oladipo and still get a top 5 seed or even build his value up and flip him at the deadline for something nice.

I feel like he’s going to the Warriors for the #2 pick

Dude was flourishing with Indiana in his 1st season and became an all-star.

Last two seasons he's barely played due to injuries.

With a healthy Dipo, the combination of Dipo, Brogdon, Sabonis, Turner and Warren could become legitimate contenders. That's a scary line up that just can't stay healthy.

People aren't mentioning that Sabonis, who was their best player, did not play in the bubble. If they had a full roster with Dipo full healthy that team could have made it a close series with the Heat.

I have a feeling Vic just doesn't want to play in Indiana anymore. I like Vic, but I have a feeling he is angling to play in Miami come 2021. Very possible we may have another Kawhi like situation on our hands if we go grab Vic, only Vic is nowhere as good as Kawhi. HOWEVER, if there is a team that can help rehab Vic, its our Raptor's doctor.

Maybe he's underperforming like Vince Carter's last season in Toronto? :dontknow:

I think a sign and trade with Ibaka going to Indiana makes more sense.
Brogdon and Sabonis were unstoppable in the pick and roll last season, the Pacers forte. Sabonis lead the league in the most points scored as the pick and roll man.
Ibaka ranked 3rd. We all know how good he is at that.

https://the-fieldhouse.com/malcolm-brogdon-domantas-sabonis-pick-roll-pacers/

Brogdon running the pick and roll with both Ibaka and Sabonis would make them unstoppable.

Some potential proposals:
Ibaka + Powell + Davis for Oladipo + Turner
Ibaka + Powell + 1st round pick for Oladipo + Turner
Ibaka + 1st round pick + future lottery protected first round pick for Oladipo
Ibaka + Davis for Oladipo
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

I'm sensing we make a surprising splash this off season. Think about it, Lowry aging... fvv likely gone. We need to remain competitive to attract FA next summer.

Kemba-Smart-Brown

Boston should be focused on their frontcourt nothing else.

Hayward for Horford makes a ton of sense for both the Celtics and Sixers.

Yep! A bad contract for a bad contract.

I don't understand the Hayward-Dipo discussion. Hayward is a liability at $34 mil, whereas Dipo is an asset @ $21 mil. They are both big injury risks.

That said, I'd love to trade for Dipo and/or Turner as long as it doesn't cost us OG/Pascal.

The thing about Hayward is that he's a good fit on the Sixers if D'Antoni is hired as coach. Plus...he'd be an expiring contract. Assuming Boston isn't planning on using Gordon's potential cap space for anything...adding Horford back to their line-up is a perfect fit.

In regards to sign and trade proposals, I think some of you are forgetting Fred and Ibaka are in the driving seat. They have to be interested in signing with the Pacers first before we can even start the conversation.

Nah if he takes Fred's money, we should be able to keep him on the team. "Sign Giannis" and then re-sign Dipo to a bigger contract if hes earned it.

It assumes we let Lowrys contract run out to sign Giannis, I'd we are trading Lowry for dipo/turner we then can't sign fvv or ibaka or Gasol unless they are 1 year deals I believe

It depends on what Oladipo and Lowry would re-sign for but you'd potentially have a max spot to use on both.

Lowry
Dipo
OG
Siakam
Giannis

That's unlikely probably but possible if they can convince Lowry to re-sign for around 10-12 mil/year and Oladipo to sign around 22 mil. Also means trading FVV and Norm for future picks or letting them walk. Ibaka and Gasol would walk too.

Dipo is the perfect type of get in my opinion because he has that expiring deal in 2021. A Fred S&T would be perfect if Fred is willing to go there.

I don't think Dipo is a super star, or my glasses are rose coloured or anything. But I think he can have a reclamation type of year next year in Toronto. If he does great, we have a chance to resign him with his bird rights assuming we don't get lucky with Giannis. If Dipo **** the bed again, well we move on and get the cap space we need to bring in a max free agent.

Dipo has cred though. I don't think a single Fred S&T with no other assets would work. Maybe it will, but I doubt it. He was an all-nba talent just 2 seasons ago. Bobby and Masai are pretty good though.

Not a big fan of Turner. I can see how he could fit in the Serge role. He puts up some good numbers, but I don't see a winning player when I see him. I also really don't like his contract since it goes right to 2023. Would rather just keep Serge on a one year super deal or something.

To me this is a no brainer move. His contract is friendly and we lacked shot creation this year.

Easy move as long as you do t give up Lowry Siakam and OG.

Return to Toronto Raptors
