brogdan and FVV seem like a good backcourt combo. I could see indy being interested.

I hope that doesn't happen :-?

Indiana gets rid of Dipo, trades Turner for Smart+FRPs (discussed on Celtics board). Nightmare scenario for rest of Eastern Conf.

Smart is the heart of that team. It will absolutely show how weak that team is if you take Smart off of it.

Probable offers:
Harris + Morris + 22 + 2021 Nuggets 1st
Levert + Prince + 19
Wiggins + 2
Culver + Okogie + 17 + 33
Bledsoe + DiVincenzo + Wilson + 24 + 2022 Bucks 1st + 2024 Bucks 1st
Richardson + Thybulle + 21
8 + 27 + 2021 Mavs 1st

I like the Brooklyn and Warriors package. Both those teams will be the most aggressive in acquiring another star and will probably be true championship contenders next season. I don’t see the Raptors getting him but, I said the same about Kawhi.

Massive overpayment for Mavs and Nuggets.

Last offer would be from the Knicks. That’s really surprising I thought the Nuggets offer was one of the worst actually. Gary Harris is overpaid, injury prone, and has been awful offensively the last few years. He’s a negative contract imo. Monte Morris is a backup or low-level starting PG. There’s nothing substantial in that offer.

If I were Indiana, I would ask New Orleans for Jaxson Hayes and other assets for Myles Turner. Turner can hit the 3 and fits their timeline of rising from fighting for a playoff spot to maybe around 4-6 seed next season.

Hayes and Hart should be close to make it happen.

Indiana really wants a defensive perimeter big to mix it with Sabonis and Siakam is probably the best fit there.

I think Oladipo and Turner for Siakam and McCaw should be strongly considered.

This trade makes sense if Raptors are really serious on chasing Giannis:
- Turner earns 13m less than Siakam and would be the main contract left on the books in 2021 FA
- The 13m less for Turner in 2021 allows Raptors to pay 5/130 deals to both FVV and Oladipo and still keep money open for Giannis
- Turner is an ideal fit with Giannis at the C
- OG and TD2 would be capholds and paid whatever to be kept.
FVV, Oladipo, OG, Giannis, Turner - TD2

Plus the lineup for next season looks nice.
Lowry - FVV
Oladipo - TD2
Powell - RHJ
OG - Boucher
Turner - Ibaka

Giannis picked Siakam very high during the allstar selections.

Is that meant to show an interest in playing with Siakam or a nod to knowing his game by being a direct competitor at the PF spot? How do they fit on a team together? One going to play the C?

Ibaka S&T + Powell + 1st? for Oladipo??

I think Trading FVV for Oladipo would be a mistake. Absolutely no guarantee that Oladipo will be back to his form. If thats the case, FVV is the better player right now.

Lowry / FVV
Oladipo / Davis
OG / Thomas
Siakam / Boucher
Gasol / Wood

Giannis can and should play C going forward so to maintain his quickness advantage.

He wont like having to play post defense/bang in the paint against centers. You can put him there in spurts but it will wear him down for an entire season. People underrate the amount of effort it takes defensively for it.

Unless Siakam comes into camp a much better perimeter player, the fit doesn't seem to be there. OG would already be the perfect complimentry SF.

FVV, Oladipo, OG, Giannis, Turner - TD2, Thomas, RHJ, Boucher

Add Lowry and Ibaka as ideal backups if both vets want to stay on for a little less in 2021 with the promise of more in 2022.

That's an undeniably great team to surround Giannis. 2 guards that can playmake in the half-court, a 5 that can spread floor, a 3 and D wing in OG and an elite bench

I’ll just say this: a starting potential starting lineup of

Myles Turner
Pascal Siakim
OG Anunoby
Victor Oladipo
Fred Vanfleet

With a decent supporting cast, is contending in the east.

Oladipo is very close with OG. Both have Nigerian roots and went to the same college. That's another reason I can see Masai pursuing Dipo. Gives incentive for OG to re-sign with Toronto.

I'm tired of the two midget backcourt. A Dipo acquisition would put an end to that. And for that reason alone I hope we acquire him.

Replace FVV with Lowry and we're contending for the NBA title and not just the East.

I think a three team sign and trade could make sense.

Freddy to New York, Randle to Indiana, Oladipo to Toronto.

Randle could buy time for Sabonis to heal up his foot, plantar fasciitis can be a lingering problem especially with big men. New York gets the guy they've been heavily rumoured to have interest in. We'd obviously have to add a pick for New York since they need incentive to make a trade rather than outright sign FVV.

OMG that would be a steal. And I'm not undervaluing Siakam here but that is seriously a steal. Myles Turner is a prototypical NBA big, with range, mobility, rebounds and probably top 5 in rim protection. Oladipo is a gamble in terms of injuries and getting back to top form, but this trade would probably ask for a couple 1st rounders.

Right. Because Hayward has looked amazing coming back from his injury(s)?

Still a better player than post-injury Oladipo.

Siakim and filler for Dipo and Warren

Return to Toronto Raptors
