The more important thing is not thr money but pushing his free agency another year as you dont have to eat up a year if a player is on the exempt list

I'm almost certain you can't push a year on a player who has already been active before. Meaning, pushing a year is fine on a draft pick or unsigned free agent who has never been active or played an actual BaF game yet. But pushing a year on an established veteran player like FVV I'm sure isn't legal.

Plus, the minute he is signed IRL (which he obviously will be), you will have to place him right back on your active roster

Not 100% positive by what is meant by "pushing a year" but anyone on the EL at the end of the year can have their contract frozen. I won't get into specific players or scenarios in public in this thread because I don't want to give away options/potential strategies for anyone but anyone can feel free to PM me with specific questions.

Yeah, but there is pretty much zero chance FVV doesn't net a contract. With Boogie, it's a lot more murky. Who says he doesn't get reinjured or have a setback as he continues his rehab process to get back in the NBA?

All the same reasons why everyone shied away from trading for him is the same exact reason why having the option to EL him gives me just one more advantage to construct my team, and a win-win scenario.

If he is healthy, I activate him and drop his replacement, at a point in the offseason when everyone's money will likely have already dried up. If he is injured or unsigned IRL, I will already have a signed BaF free agent on my roster to replace him. No lose situation.

I'ma EL him regardless. If he ends up getting signed IRL, I'll just drop his replacement and it'll be at a point in the BaF offseason when everyone's money will have been dried up for sure.

The NBA and the NBPA have agreed to push back the 2020 NBA draft (scheduled for Oct. 16) and free agency (Oct. 18), according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The league has now confirmed Nov. 18 as the revised date for the draft, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Looks like NBA free agency won't be kicking off until December, at earliest. Everyone (BaF GM's) will be broke by the time NBA IRL free agency is sorted out and Boogie's next contract situation is clear. Cuz that'll be about a month and a half after BaF free agency opens on Oct. 25th.

The way people keep talking about players getting paid and these wild projected salaries with people in agreement with Hoffa's profiles, I know dudes won't be saving their money until December.

If Boogie is exempted Hoffa wins, 2010 spends $300 on one of the best FA's leaving more money available to be spent on free agents which inflates the market just like he wanted. Sooner or later Cousins will get his contract in December or January, and then Hoffa will be the only player who preserved his cap and will be able to sign 2010's replacement player for cheap.

Point Guard and Center are the deepest free agent crops. I am coming out with a team profile during the week of free agency that will outline depth charts for every team and players they likely pursue given there cap space and roster slots. Already done the Eastern Conference and many teams will be tight for space and roster slots after the draft, some will even have to make deals or cut players to accommodate first round picks

I'll save you a little time.

Orlando. Cap space after draft picks: about $2 whole dollars. Likely free agents targeted. NONE.

Nah, Hoffa is planning on jumping out the window early and throwing around big one year offers. With that strategy, he’s not gonna be able to save much money towards late December/January when Boogie will likely sign his next deal.

Hoffa has a poor free agency rating and will not be offering multi-year deals. So he will have to overpay for whom ever he signs. He won’t have as much money left as you think.

If GMs are smart, they will be frugal and spend wisely to preserve some cash to ensure they can outbid Hoffa on whichever star I may release late in the offseason, if/when Boogie signs IRL.

Hoffa wants everyone throwing out big offers early and going broke quickly so he can get all the late bargains. Everyone should do the exact opposite. Bid small and drag the process out as long as possible. See which players slip through the cracks as GMs have their money tied up in multiple bids. Or life has someone fall asleep at the wheel as time expires and a winning bid is announced. That’s how bargains are made.

That’s why I was laughing at dudes falling for his market manipulation profiles and adhering to his contract projections and parameters.

This free agency period is loaded and unprecedented. Patience will be rewarded.

Sooner or later Cousins will get his contract in December or January, and then Hoffa will be the only player who preserved his cap and will be able to sign 2010's replacement player for cheap.

Patience lol GMs didn't want to move the draft a couple weeks to be more in line with real life, free agency will be over in a couple of days

...and there you have it. He’s literally banking on you all handcuffing yourselves. As you read his profiles and take notes on what you should be bidding for each player.

NONE.

Close..

Orlando Magic
- $19 in Cap space with 2 open roster slots
o Has the 31st and 60th picks
- Has Sexton and Holiday at PG could bring in another if they choose
- Wiggins and Butler starting at the 2/3,
o Coby White as back up at the 2 and Knox at back up 3
- Has Gordon and Thompson start at the 4/5
o Cody Zeller and Thomas Bryant as back up bigs
- If roster remains as is, no threat in free agency, will likely try and steal a better starting point guard or depth at the 3/4
Charlotte Hornets

SGA
Ant Man/Tyler Herro
Dillon Brooks/Royce Oneil/Julian Champagnie
Domatas Sabonis/Cam Johnson
Mitch Robinson
