Re: Trade Ideas Thread
I don't even like this trade, but Kevin Love makes close to Hayward's salary and you'd assume Cleveland wants to dump him. Here goes:
Boston trades Hayward, #26 draft pick
Cleveland trades Love, #5 draft pick
Why for Boston? A stretch big man who can still rebound somewhat.
Why NOT for Boston? Awful contract ($30M in 2021-22 and 2022-23), complete liability on D, 32 years old and looks older than that.
Why for Cleveland? Cash money. Cavs won't be good anyway so who cares, and they traded for Drummond so they have rebounding covered.
Why NOT for Cleveland? I guess because they want to use the #5 pick and don't mind paying Love.
Honestly I think a Love/Hayward deal would have to be a 3 teamer since we don't want him. Indiana plays slow as ****, so maybe they'd take him back as part of an Oladipo/Turner trade. Maybe something like: Indiana gets the #5 and #26 picks with Love, Celtics get Oladipo and Turner, and Hayward goes to Cleveland.

I don't see us getting close to getting the #5 pick in this deal

That's sad because I don't like it even getting the #5 pick
What if we gave #14 instead of #26? Still no go?

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Love is unplayable. He has to play 5 but that would just kill our defense. The value of a big who can shoot the three is overstated. A big who can defend the paint and the perimeter and get second chance points is far more valuable than another spot-up shooter.

So is Indy going forward with Warren as their primary scorer? Seems to make Hayward’s fit kind of questionable. I don’t know TJ’s contract situation.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
TexasChuck proposed on the trade board:
KEmba to Philly for Horford and Richardson (no like)
Hayward and #14 for Lowry (LOVE)
Lowry would be a perfect PG here, imo. Would still need to grab a young one in the draft or something to have one to learn from Kyle for a year or 2. (Maybe a kemba trae to NYK for their pick and Denis Smith Jr?) That Kemba deal would create a 20 million dollar TPE as well.
And Lowry would really help team get over that ECF hump.
Lowry/Smart/Brown/Tatum is a ridiculous lineup on both ends of the court.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Lowry would be great but maybe give up 26 and 30 instead. Then trade Kemba to the Knicks or something for #8 and get Killian Hayes.

I would do horrible things to get Kyle Lowry on this team.

I wasnt certain about how highly they value Dipo.
I mean, in a perfect health world I think Dipo could be a very good fit there. The key being his health
He’s if he’s healthy it’s a different return.....but you got the 1 year rental potential that always kills returns and then massive injury questions with him. They won’t get anywhere near what they expect to imo.
Agreed. My point is IND is still gonna view it different. They know offers will be low, but they don't have to take those. They'll want to get near a healthy/rental Dipo return. And at some point it's just not worth it for them to move him. They'd be better off hoping he returns to health and happiness.
I’d just say something is better than nothing....there comes a point that u have to collect assets or your lost holding the bag. They don’t have to take a bad offer but if they take nothing they are making a terrible decision and quite frankly lack any real leverage

Yah, getting Oladipo at the expense of Olynyk, Nunn [and picks [absorbed into some cap space] seems like good business to me. No idea why Riley would turn that down.
It’s just a no brainer
I would be surprised if Indy doesn't get a better offer than that though
And what if dipo makes it clear he’s a rental anywhere but Miami?

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Would the Sixers do Kemba/Hayward/++ for Simmons/Horford?
Haha I'm bored sorry. Carry on.
But I like the idea of a tallish defensive PG that can grow with Tatum/Brown and set them up. They need to learn OFFBALL MOVEMENT until it's second nature though.
EDIT: Sixers balance their roster. Don't lose much in terms of playmaking. Add shooting/scoring. Get out of Horford contract.
Cs with follow-up trade for Bjelica -- Simmons/Brown/Tatum/Bjelica/Timelord w/Smart, Grant, & Horford heading the bench. Or sign a starting stretch-4 for the MLE.

He needs the ball in his hands, so that's also a bad start since Tatum/Brown do too. Plus we can only keep him for one year since he'll want a ton of money if he plays well.

Re: Trade Ideas Thread
Wonder if we could find a suitable deal with Hayward to Dallas. They’re kind of like Miami from a cap perspective with a lot of mid-tier money tied up in mid-tier players:
-Dwight Powell 3/33 left
-Delon Wright 2/17 left
-Maxi Kleber 3/26 left
-Seth Curry 3/24.5 left
-DFS 2/8 left
We could use some of the above players to build our bench. If they traded some combination for Hayward’s expiring, they’ll have 40-60M in cap space next summer. Feels like we could find some mutually agreeable situation. Would love to add Curry and Wright to our team.

I really like the potential of Brunson. Cheap salary, but would be a good add in for us.

DAL fans on T&T board have signed off on THJ/Wright/18/31 over 1000 times already. They want out of Wright's 2nd year.
They would give you Powell for 18 straight to get out of his deal.

I guess I’m wondering if theres a way we could get Curry instead of THJr. Wondering if taking on Powell does that

Simmons / Tatum / Brown trio is what wet dreams are made of. If we somehow were able to keep smart too, that defensive lineup might be the best and most switchable the NBA has ever seen.
OK, time to stop dreaming now...

It’s not a big....but is Jrue holiday too redundant? He’s also on his last year....would pels be interested in Hayward- could we balance the salary easily?
