Re: 2020 Presidential Election (All Serious POVs Welcome)
I'm still kinda shocked at how many neoliberals and so called revolutionary leftists are ignoring his obvious call to action... Like Trump is mobilizing his brownshirts, where's the political leaders openly calling for impeachment and squashing this before we end up the Weimar Republic 2.0.
Like at this point it's not even being overboard to say Trump came mask off, full 100% fascist, and it seems like no one with the power to do anything is taking it any type of seriously. Like why are they discussing Trump saying he will use the SCOTUS to take power regardless of the vote and calling on his brownshirts to murder people and guard the polls the same way we talked about him grabbing women by the pussy? Like one is vulgar and rape, the other is literally him openly saying he will and has already started a fascist takeover of the country.
That link Clyde_Style posted that Trump tweeted for his poll watchers is armyfortrump.com it's not even like it's not blatant. It's as open as open could be. Like seriously he should've been arrested by federal agents ON STAGE after saying that ****.
Like WTF is wrong with the American left? Are we as a collective just stupid and **** and deserving of this because at this point I feel like we must be.

If you're an american that doesn't support Trump's militias and you're not looking into how to get a firearm right now you're part of the problem. **** that. The 2nd Amendment exists for literally this moment and as a collective the left is too cowardly to actually exercise those rights and win for once. Just roll over and die I guess.

They're fascists. Trump literally is gathering his brownshirts and telling them to stand by, then giving them the order to join his "army" and intimidate voters. You're a mod bro if you don't ban everyone on this damn website that's openly saying they're going to vote for him you're part of the problem just as much as they are for continuing to let them spread this propaganda.

you don't know how much thought and debate in my household there's been over this.
my wife and i have never owned guns. we live in the south. i'm from NY, but she's been down here pretty much her whole life. she is vehemently opposed to owning weapons, taking life, etc. i told her i respect that, but i'm not going out like that. i didn't come out of st. nick projects in the 80s by the skin of my knuckles... as tupac put it, "i done seen too many real [ones] fall to let you..." you know the rest.
i have some training and go to the range as a hobby/life skill. i've also taken up archery. hoped i'd never need to be a gun owner. but in this moment i refuse to be killed by white supremacists without a fight. even if futile, i'm clapping back. you come for my life, embrace the possibility of losing yours.
i'm disheartened at the notion of terror at the polls. trump has severely damaged if not already destroyed the fabric of our republic.

Bro this is what I'm saying, what are the arguments for? As a collective the American left deserves all this bull honestly. I'm at the point where if someone tells me they support Trump to my face that's a threat.
IDGAF if I'm not posting here in a few days know I caught an assault charge in the Atlanta metro somewhere.

Ban them for the open promotion of armed militias murdering people. Like this isn't about "who you vote for" anymore at this point, that's kind of what I'm trying to get across. Like I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone in one of those weird societies where everything is **** up and people are just acting like it's cool. There's no action on earth that can be considered overreaction to a leader calling on their brownshirts to lead a fascist takeover of a country.

My man...
Like again am I the crazy one? Someone tell me here, when he told right wing militias to stand by because someone had to do something about anti fascism was that not a call to arms? When he, a minute later, said he wants what he's calling his Army For Trump to monitor polling stations was that not a call to mobilize? What was it exactly if not that?

Re: 2020 Presidential Election (All Serious POVs Welcome)
What separates these right wing militias that our president is now taking control of from the brownshirts? Would they not both be considered paramilitaries? Just asking.

i understand fully what you mean. just, no. it's not direct enough in this application.
i wish they understood what we mean. i wish they valued my black life. and with all that, they have a right to say and think these things.
i don't tolerate it in my personal life. but at RealGM i'm a moderator for everyone. all we can do on this forum is share our thoughts. someone would have to say something much more direct that is a violation of rules to be banned. i can't ban for what i believe are the implications of a voting choice.
still, this is plenty to think about. i appreciate that you challenge us and ask where exactly tf the line is. if someone were supporting david duke or a neo-nazi, they'd probably be banned. i do see trump in the same vein personally. i think more people will after last night. but i suppose the collective consciousness isn't there yet.

That's acceptable discourse in the US now because that's where we are as a country. The road to fascism is lined with people telling you you're overreacting. But people are in a state of denial and refuse to acknowledge what's right in front of them, and keep believing that this system is going to just work itself out and take care of it

I think the line was pretty clearly and openly crossed last night. He went from the toe the line rhetoric to a call for action. Like if the line is any further than this, like I said before, we deserve to be wiped out honestly. Like the line should realistically be set prior to the actual deployment of his paramilitary, but it's obvious that anything short of when he gives order 66 isn't going to be enough. I know mods have their own chat where they discuss these things, please bring this up. Like you said openly supporting David Duke would be a ban and Trump 360 dunked on any rhetoric he's ever said as the freaking former head of a domestic terrorist organization.

It's actually kind of impressive how quickly a black president led to America as a fascist state. Like it only took 12 years? I know they hated us but ****...

i don't who has watched the handmaids tale, but in it they're living in a fascist america. and they show these flashbacks to before where there were hints it was gonna happen. and i just told someone, sometimes i wonder if we're living in those flashbacks now and we're not recognizing the signs.

I feel like prior to yesterday not recognizing the signs was ok. Like yeah it's bad but it's not too bad. Trump not denouncing right wing militias is par for the course. Trump acknowledging them and telling them to stand by (legitimizing them as his army aka a paramilitary) is so clearly blatant anyone that can't recognize this is deserving of whatever fascist America has planned for them.
Obviously some people just don't pay attention, but if you watched that whole debate and walked away with any thought other than "so he's openly fascist now" I don't understand how you tie your shoes in the morning.
