Oladipo looking to "move on" from the Pacers

Myles Turner is made for Boston it’s crazy. Yeah Myles can fit in a lot of other teams but what other team was on, and has been on the brink of making the finals that also needs another piece that’s not anything other than a roll player?

Swap out Hayward and put Turner in the Miami series and I’m not confident Miami goes to the finals. He does everything they need. defend the paint, big enough to play post defense against Davis, embiid and stay in front of giannis. Block shots and grab a few rebounds since Boston gang rebounds anyway. Offensively Boston has that covered with their wing duo. All Turner would need to do is take wide open 3’s and catch lobs.

Indiana is a boring rural state overall but Indianapolis is low key a very nice city, and a guy in Brogdon who called Milwaukee segregated came here willingly so this theory doesn't even hold water.

Pacers have had a whole bunch of former players make permanent homes here after their career... Austin Croshere, Rik Smits, and Derrick Mckey are just a few examples (So A European born player and POC included).

I'll go ahead and bust another dumb theory, the same players who were speculated to be disgruntled with Nate are the ones currently being discussed for trades, I sincerely doubt this is any sort of reaction to his firing. If anything, his firing was an attempt to reconcile with Oladipo. Oladipo has turned into quite the diva and that's disappointing after the great season he had in 2018 but it appears he got a pretty big head about himself.

How hard is Toronto going for Giannis?

I'm just curious if they are wary of extending OG Anunoby to keep their max cap space open, Oladipo being on a one year contract could be a huge asset for them. I think Indiana should target OG as we need an impact defender in the frontcourt.

Having OG, Siakim, and Giannis in the frontcourt would be a logjam anyway. Oladipo plus Aaron Holiday (Kyle Lowry successor on a cheap rookie deal) for OG Anunoby... realistic?

I'd turn around and swap Turner for Jrue and call it an offseason. Would be pretty happy with that.

No, not Myles!!!!

But I cannot blame him. He was the scapegoat for everything the last few years. He was not featured in the offensive gameplan at all, no blame if he wants out.

Honestly I've never been sure of what to make of him. On paper he seems like an incredible 'unicorn' type of player - one of maybe 5 or so 7 footers in the NBA who can protect the rim and splash threes. But whenever I watch him or look at his stats... I just don't consistently see the same impact. Sabonis on the other hand, every game I've ever watched of the Pacers when he's playing, you feel his impact.

When you really watched Pacers games than you must have seen that the Pacers offensive scheme didn't include Myles at all! I mean, even in the playoffs with Sabonis out, Lamb out and both Dipo and Brogdon not at 100%, he was STILL no part of the offensive gameplan. He was ignored every time he had a mismatch (Heat switched every screen, yet Myles did receive only 4 total passes in the whole series when being guarded by a guard) and still he was putting up 16 Points on great percentages (60% FG, 40% 3P) and the best PER (behind Aaron Holiday) of the team.
I wonder what his capabilities are when he is actually features by a coach who knows what to do with him. In McMillan/Pacers basketball, he was standing on the weakside as a spot up option without moving 90% of the time.

That he is able to do stuff you saw in glimpses during Bubble scrimmages. He received the ball a lot and was allowed to do stuff, even off the dribble. While not perfect, it looked promising.

Raptors are def going after Giannis. I think raps will wait for OG to become a restricted free agent instead of extending him now (could be wrong) while they figure out what to do with FVV and the others. TBH Raptors have a lot of work to do this summer. But I also think Masai has his eye on Oladipo. I'm not sure how much or how valuable he views him, but I get the feeling Masai is watching patiently.

But the Raptors need to figure out our current free agent problem before we can envision our future roster.

Trae makes life easier for Dipo.

But Dipo makes life harder for Trae.

Hayward would get to go back home and they'd be able to sell tickets based on him being there while Boston upgrades the front court with someone who can defend the rim and slow down a guy like Bam going forward.

Raps dont really have the trade assets while remaining competitive. Remove OG/Siakam and how are they gonna get him? Powell and 2 1st rounders doesnt sound that enticing.

You don't know what your getting with him so giving up a Middleton type player for him to me seems like a lateral move at best.

That's along the lines I was thinking. Oladipo and Turner for Hayward and all of Boston's 2020 FRPs. Maybe add #47 or swap #47 for Pacers' #54.
