Hmmm what possible reason could a player have for not doing the measurements? Is it possible that they don't want false information to be proven false?

Which players are actually participating in the combine?

At this point I'm out on all of these guys.

Watching that Ball media session was a farce. The guy came across like he couldn't have cared less and, combine it with the vid he did with Schmitz a while back, he looks legitimately dumb. Like James Anderson, see the hamster wheel spinning dumb. Then there's the lack of self awareness (refusing to admit his shot needs work) and I just don't see any upside here. He's got bust written all over him. Maybe not out of the league but sure as hell not future All Star, closer to a Brandon Jennings than a Ben Simmons.

Edwards isn't much better. Just hate the idea of having to coach desire. And Wiseman doesn't fit. If the goal is to move Towns or insurance for that, fine, but together they won't work.

Trade down and pick either Vassell, Okongwu or Okoro. Someone who's effort won't be questioned, who can play both ends competently and has some level of basketball IQ. Bank on Okoro fixing his shot or Vassell developing his handles as your ticket to stardom, not Ball developing a brain or Edwards developing a heart (or vice versa).

That's the official list. What it actually entails is beyond me though. How many are just going through interviews isn't listed nor do we know who might peace out same as Ball just did.

That B/R kind of hammers all 3 consensus guys...looking for clicks--maybe?

Doogie saying we're considering just the top 2 G's @ 1....true doubt it, but I do think there's a real chance he doesn't like any of the 3. Think this leak could very much be internal...as much as anything just trying to improve a trade market that's going to be tough to maximize compared to other year's.

If I could get RJ, 8, and 2021 frp...I'd deal with NY. RJ's flawed for sure, but I think I trust him more than any of the top 3 & better than any of the other Atl guys with exception of maybe Reddish?

If there's a way I could turn 1 & 17 into 6 & 8 (+ parts)....rather come out say with Okongwu and Vassell....those are probably the two that I'd be most comfortable with....trick is just manipulating the picks to align to be able to draft both?

Deni and Hayes are partipating. Ball, Wiseman, Okongwu, Toppin and Vassell aren't. The first two move up in my esteem the next five move down.

Geez...looking at some recent Mock drafts, guys like Mannion and Maledon are dropping like an old man’s balls. My personal current Top 5:

1. Wiseman
2. Okongwu
3. Avdija
4. Vassell
5. Toppin

I have read that Ball did not impress during interviews. High basketball IQ, low self awareness.

Reading this thread gives me a feeling that most of Wolves fans are afraid of front office drafting a 'bust'. This is why many wish to trade down, so there would be less pressure on organization. I don't want to sound disrespectful or anything, but this team needs drastic measures and not to chose the safest path.. which leads to another decade of fighting for a 10th seed in the West.

Now that Ball isn't going through the measurements and meeting individually with teams, specifically Minny...

Since Ty Terry has raised his drafting stock, I am starting to scout Grant Riller as #17 pick. Could be a special player with that basketball IQ and craftiness

I would be shocked if we got both Barrett and a pick.

Great post! That's right. That's why you have to go with Edwards. If Edwards blows up you have 3 stars who can all take over a game. Fill in at PF and SF and we're set.

Agree, Culver or the Brooklyn pick would have to be added to obtain such a package.

Barrett isn’t that good. Posters here are harsh on Culver and Barrett had an even worse rookie year and had much higher expectations. Knicks can keep him. I would prefer future picks instead. The Thibs experiment they are trying will undoubtably fail.

Knicks fan should have major ptsd about picking in the 8/9th spot again.

Good list Slim. I saw Mannion play once. Once was enough. I wouldn't even give him the time of day at pick 33.

I would have zero interest in what his coach and teammates have to say unless it was negative you can throw it out as completely biased.

Riller looks at least 30 years old. The last player I saw drafted that looked older was Greg Oden and that didn't work out well. Without looking it up I'm going to guess that Riller is one of the oldest if not the oldest player expected to be drafted. Now I'm going to look it up.

Looked it up He's 23 and will turn 24 shortly after the start of the season. I'd consider him at 33, but not earlier.
I just looked at a top 100 big board
https://therookiewire.usatoday.com/lists/nba-mock-draft-big-board-virtual-combine-top-players/
I had to scroll down to their 45th projected player to find another 23 year old. Lamine Diane that is his age at draft time. Actually still just 22.
The guy they have at 50th Sam Merrill is actually 24 right now. Utah State. I'm guessing he's Mormon and did his mission already.
I'm impressed with myself

Barrett and 8 plus an unprotected is not going to happen. No way in Hell. I might accept either 8 and Barrett or 8 and unprotected #1.
