2 steals, 3 blocks, 3-8 on 3s. Still bricked some completely wide open looks, which always sucks, but you can’t ask for much more than that.

The consistent ability to find defensive solutions really shines. The game is so much more strategic now, more than perhaps even just 10 years ago. As such, the way they neutralize matchup issues and take away strengths is better than just about any Lakers team that I can remember, and I’ve been watching for a very long time. AD is obviously phenomenal, but its not like we’re siccing a Coop or Artest on anybody to lock them up. It’s very much a team effort. So I really give Vogel a lot of credit. That was one of the things that stood out with those Pacers teams that gave the Heat hell and he’s brought that same attitude and structure here.

Yeah its that Pacers identity and approach except with Davis, LeBron, Rondo and Dwight manning the roles instead of happy feet Hibbert, Paul George, David West and Lance Stephenson.

A lot of the credit should also go to Pelinka as I've always felt we were short changing the small things in terms of the coaching set up and the attention to detail that brings. He has really had a vision for how a coaching staff should look, a great communicator in Vogel, backed up by solid veterans like Hollins, Kidd and Handy.

I've heard it on what might be the JJ Redick podcast that Tony Allen told him Rondo's shooting looks so much more consistent because he is shooting without much elevation, akin to what Kidd did in his late years to change his shot. That's player development for a late career player, who is stubborn as a mule but respects someone enough to open himself up for constructive change. Those kinds of things are priceless and just what add to winning at this caliber.

For sure. Our supporting cast is an island of misfit toys but they’re somehow making it work.

I’ve been one of Rondo’s biggest critics since he’s been here and he’s playing fantastic. Part of it is that, outside of the fact he played like legit crap for long stretches, I actually have a friend who was on the Mavs staff when he was there. They couldn’t believe how unprofessional he was; constantly getting into petty arguments with Carlisle in film study, breaking off plays to do his own thing, blowing defensive assignments because he wasn’t paying attention to the game plan, etc etc etc. Hard to respect somebody when you hear stories like that, regardless of their pedigree. But he’s been an elite role player in the playoffs; his shooting is downright shocking.

Obviously having a 1-2 punch like we do is incredible. But lots of people have chipped in to get us in the position we are, at all levels of the organization.

This is a sweep with the current Heat injuries. The way we started the game gave me fits though, Miami was feasting.

I am lowkey loving the salt on the GB as well: asterisk season, easiest playoff path ever, Lakers bench is the deepest of all time, the bubble is like playing pick-up basketball.

None of it matters. At the end of the day the Lakers went through 3 strong teams in the West, no matter how you slice it. Lebron and AD have been phenomenal all the way, our role players have all stepped up at one point.

I can't see the next 3 games going any other way than this one. LeBron will try to gun for that FMVP though, no doubt about it. AD statistically deserves it but he's enabled by LeBron. All in all I don't care, it's the trophy for the franchise that matters.

3 More wins, we got this. There's a lot of credit to go around, but I'll toss it around when we hoist that trophy.

If anything, the bubble strips away all kinds of variance like travel, sleep schedules, away fans etc and the difference that remains is at a pure basketball level.

This is like running an experiment in the most sterile environment ever.

Not sure if this has been said yet, injuries has always been part of the game. A lot of teams through the years will say, if we had Perkins we would have won, if we had Bynum we would have won -- which, then ultimately comes down to team construction and depth. Let the haters hate

Looks like I overestimated the Heat by a lot. This is looking like a sweep. Great game by the Lakers.

Regardless of who wins I am curious about “the parade” with COVID-19 still raging.

Has anyone seen Miles around here lately?

Hopefully, he can see that he was wrong about this team and is enjoying this playoff run.

True, we all were right about Caruso.

He was a thoughtful poster at least, would be good if he checked in again someday, maybe in the offseason

Miles was every doubt I had about LeBron and his intentions of coming to LA personified. Some days he did sound a little more right to me than usual

I could see Jordan, Rodman, or Kukoc liking the bubble.

What I could not see is Pippen during their first 3 peat thriving in it. Imagine living in a hotel with the Bad Boy Pistons when he used to get migraines getting ready for the games. With no crowd to vibe off of, Detroit would kill him IMO

The board was split 50/50 on Caruso and Miles was at the forefront of the Caruso bandwagon.

He will be back, he always does.
