Color me naive, but I could actually see this working out.

Doc's reaction when he found out 76ers hired him:

Most logical thinking people understand that Kawhi ruined that team. Very little to do with Doc.

How so? Load management?

The Clippers were fine the season before. Chemistry was great. Team was playing good basketball. Then Kawhi comes in and guts the entire team. The players took on his nonchalant attitude towards the regular season and self imploded when chemistry and continuity was needed in a playoff format.

He’s an upgrade but bad for philly. Should have gone for something fresher. So many rehashed coaches in the nba.

Nurse should be an inspiration for nba teams. Have a go at an unproven head coach.

Good, so no changes will happen at all and he'll rely on a team with Embiid in the locker room to manage itself and make the gameplans.

Great call.

I guess Philly will just wait 2 years before they blow it up then.

That was always going to be the safe move, maybe Simmons will get a shot and things will change who knows.

Congrats, Philly. Perfect coach to maybe getting your team out of the 1st round.

An upgrade over Brett, but the horrible roster construction and crippling contracts remain. I'm also concerned he's too much of a "player's coach"; although, I don't know him well enough to know for sure. Brett Brown seemed like he ran that team like a summer camp at times, which couldn't have helped convince Ben Simmons to develop his shooting or Embiid to keep up his conditioning.

Is this a better roster than the one he had in LA?

well SAS can rest easy tonight - a black coach was hired today.

good luck to doc, this a great opportunity to put the clippers curse behind him and make a run to be the eastern conference champions

D'antoni would of brought the 76ers to ruin.

The Process Continues...

Good hire both ways. Philly needs to balance out that roster but he has two great pieces in BS and Embiid. This also clears the way for MDA to go where he'd be the most exciting... NO.

So he's going from one team that constantly disappoints to another, as a coach that constantly coaches these teams. Well at least there's consistency here.

Great hire for Philly, I approve. I wonder what will happen with Mr Pringles? Are there any teams still interested in hiring him?

Brand is hitching himself onto the Doc Rivers wagon. This will either go down in flames or go up....in flames.

I liked D'Antoni for the Sixers.

IMO an offense tactician like MDA is best suited for the Sixers. They are already good on the defensive side.

However, Rivers is a supposed great motivator.......and if he can motivate Simmons to start taking 3's-or even to take elbow jumpers-then this may be a good fit.
