Just think about it.

I just watch what Jimmy has done since he left Philly. totally a team player. encouraging/supporting all that young talent. he wants his team mates to play hard, and he wants to win. i don't see him distorting/hurting the team by demanding that he play point guard, or initiate all the action. he thoroughly buys into Riley's culture and Spo's coaching.

I dont live in Philly. I live probably in the biggest basketball country in the world, so I watch a lot of non-sixers games.

So.. “I also watch Jimmy has done since he left Philly”. Aside from what you said he wants, he doesnt want to play 3&D wing for most of the game (he’s a bad 3pt shooter). It’s also been reported (i think by Doris Burke) how he usually plays passive on a new team then would want more role and the game to play his way. And if he has the ball in his hands, who’s the odd man out? Biid spacing the floor like Brook Lopez or Ben at the dunker spot like DeAndre Jordan?

It’s not just me that thinks we chose Ben over Butler and Butler staying means Ben will have decreased ball time. Ben wouldn’t want that. And unlike Steph Curry, who can play off ball by spacing the floor, Ben can’t do that. While it’s been reported also that Brett is totally committed in playing Ben at PG.

Butler said in an interview last November that not everyone on the 76ers was working as hard as him last year, via Michael Kaskey-Blomain of CBS Sports.

"Is everybody playing this game for a championship? ... [Some guys are playing for] the money, the houses, the cars, the fame," Butler told Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports.

Regarding this quote.

Who is Butler referring to? TJ McConnel?

Not working hard = poor development

Who in the roster has poor development, money, houses, cars and fame?

Jimmy Butler provided a "stronger voice" voice for the Philadelphia 76ers when he was with the team, but Ben Simmons reportedly "didn't love that attitude," according to Zach Harper of The Athletic.

As a person, nothing was ever handed to Jimmy.

He grew up in a super crazy tough environment. His length is average. Even quite short if you ask me. He is not even a good shooter. He was just a role player in Marquette with Crowder. But what makes him special is his drive. He’s a fighter that FIGHTS to get what he wants.

He’s not going to sit around and wait for the coach to give him the role he wants. If he did, he would have never been a star and just continued playing that role player role he had in Marquette.

..and it’s the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of Ben “Fresh Prince” “LeBron 2.0” Simmons

I dont hate Ben and this is not a hate post on him. I just want two things..

1.) stop disregarding that Ben is the biggest reason why We didn’t re-sign Jimmy.
2.) Ben should rise up to the challenge and turn things around because he is getting left behind.

except in last year's playoffs, when it really mattered. yeah, Jimmy agreed to push the rock, but he also said that it was uncool of Brett to make that move after Ben was pg the whole regular season, and that if he was Ben, he'd be sore. JoJo has made himself very clear about what he thinks about Jimmy. saying he was unhappy that Jimmy wasn't extended is kind of an understatement, no? meanwhile, i'll be darned if i i've read a single discouraging word about Jimmy's play this year with Miami. except here on this thread. more like congratulations to Pat, with an assist from Wade, to recruit Jimmy to build a young finals contender around. am i wrong thinking that the good vibes coming from this squad is contagious for most NBA fans, except maybe those who's own team were/are in direct competition in the playoff's?

Lol at these fake renaissance men, Durant and Irving. This Brooklyn thing might even be a bigger flop than the Clippers.

Reminds me of the last Game of Zones episode:

"Kyrie doesn't plan, he's an artist"

"I'm an artist, and you didn't support me"

"Sure I did. I LEFT, so you could take whatever stupid shot you wanted"

Lakers vs Heat G1
- Lakers made the Heat looked like a regular season team. They did it by not just being more talented but being more flexible.
- to start the game LAL started with D12-AD. It forces mismatch since crowder is forced to defend AD. It was a smart move by Vogel. But then LAL found themselves in a hole.
- a smarter move by Vogel was sitting Bron. Putting a smaller frontcourt with Rondo. This pushed the pace for the Lakers and lead them to open looks.
- the problem with the Heat is they can only play one style with Bam at C. They need to have a line-up where they can have Bam play with another big.
- a team like the lakers can “reset” the card dealt to them by either going extra big or going small. They can bully their way, play better D, get more shots and hunt high FG% with playing extra big or when they play small... they are as fast as the heat but still be bigger
- another problem for the Heat is LAL gets to the line a lot. Bam was in foul trouble. Heat at one point had Iggy playing center.
- i like how the heat utilized Bam and Jimmy. I like how both guys run a lot of screens with the ball via DHO or just screen off the ball (sort of a triangle offense action with Jimmy and Dragic to forced the PG on Jimmy), the problem against the LAL is they dont have that Kemba where Jimmy can bully.
- last, LAL exposed Herro and Duncan’s defense. Heat was comfortable with both guys as primary defender on LeBron. Heat doesnt really care about mismatch at all because they play a lot of zone defense but their zone was just obliterated with D12-AD chaos in the paint and with LAL shooting well in G1

Imagine having the highest payroll among the teams while adding Doc’s salary. Doc is one of the highest paid coach BTW

I don't know, this feels different. The Heat really got under their skin. LeBron and Kuzma disappeared with .7 left on the clock to pout in the lockerroom. Heat might have a chance here.

Naw, Lebron is a bad loser and has always been that way (sometimes a bad winner too). This was a great win and I can see the Heat taking at least one more off of LAL but this was a combined effort of Jimmothy being amazing and LAL laying a bit of an egg.

Can't lay an egg in the finals with Bam & Dragic out (with a possibility of coming back for game 4). That's the kind of thing that changes the momentum of a series and makes some of the Lakers question themselves... Looking at you Kuzma.
