To keep up with the cool kids, I've started checking out Pitchfork's "6 New Albums You Should Listen To Now", which they do every Friday. This week's list: https://pitchfork.com/news/6-new-albums-you-should-listen-to-now-roisin-murphy-21-savage-and-metro-boomin-bartees-strange-and-more/

Over the past few days:

Rage Against the Machine's first two albums
Audioslave's first album
Big Boi Sir Lucious Left Foot
RTJ 2nd & 4th albums
Deep Sea Diver
Outkast Southernplayalistik.... & Aquemini

About to check out some Australian hip hop. A friend of mine was telling me about how he's a big fan and just texted over some artists to check out. Soooo intrigued to dive down this rabbit hole.

I was supposed to see Big Boi at a music festival this past June before covid ruined everything.

Aquemini is such an underrated album.

That sucks about the festival.

It's funny about Big Boi..... I used to be such an Andre fan from day 1. I preferred his style and flow vs. Big Boi. As I've gotten older and went back to listening to their earlier albums, I really slept on how damn talented BB is. To still release quality music over 3 decades is not an easy task for good, quality lyricists.

I'm all about The Teskey Brothers at the moment.

If you dig artists like Otis Redding (as I do - in a significant way), then give the Aussie brothers a whirl. I promise you wont be disappointed.

Currently have this on in the background while I work:

Snidely, Spotify hosts a Latin Jazz playlist on Spotify that is fantastic, worth checking out. Definitely going to listen to the albums you posted.

When I get in a music rut I like to check out random albums in unusual categories that have been nominated for Grammys. This album won best reggae album in 2019 and is awesome:

This album is fantastic, give it a try Snidely, particularly the third track named Source.

I got more into Blues/Rock, Bluegrass, Southern? Country/Rock? type of stuff this year. Not really sure what kind of genre they all are supposed to fall under. Pretty much anything with good musicianship and instrument use. I'm trying to get away from the studio-produced stuff.

I'm mostly listening to chill funky melodic grooves
.. mostly stuff from last 10 yrs...

Here's my Spotify playlist... not sure if this link works

https://open.spotify.com/playlist/5yKGe2Jx4xRv3Rxbpsadue?si=Ira2oz4dSgi3C2W5EDfc7w&utm_source=copy-link

Parcels was a new band for me, also Sam purdey (although it's from 20 yrs ago)

Always love scary pockets for fun funk covers

Last but not least... the kiffness... hilarious but amazing vids... taking random viral internet clips and turning jnto songs. The cat and dog vids are my favorite, plus chicken and corn song and Bhuban song.
