— Mentioned that he didn’t think Vic would command an All-Star in return unless packaged with Myles and mentioned this could possibly occur
—- Pacers will need to decide if they want someone who can help them compete immediately or a draft pick who can help down the road
— Michael mentioned that he was told the Pacers were more in favor of an established player versus a rookie, pick or younger player with potential
— He noted that multiple teams coveted Myles and mentioned the Wizards by name and that Turner may not be valued as much by Pacer fans, but that other teams valued him
— Suggested that Myles had more trade value than Vic at this point
On Twitter, DHackett has pushed idea of the Fred S&T plus Norm plus baggage for VO and Turner. It solves a lot of problems, including the risk of Norm picking up his PO in 2021. I'd feel a lot more secure about that then simply letting Fred go for a guy (VO) who may not be as good as Fred right now, may never again recover his former ability, and will have to be renounced in 2021 if Raps need space to sign a max FA.
But by trading for both Turner and VO, if they both pan out, the Raps have more assets in what might turn out to be an S&T for Giannis. As long as Raps retain the space to sign Giannis outright, the Bucks will happily take some positive assets in return - e.g. Durant trade to Nets.
But with Brogdon, are the Pacers really looking for a guy like Fred? And does Fred want to go to Indiana? It is close to home, and in his last interview he said something about recognizing the importance of family.
