Yeah he was getting angrier and angrier at the bashing he was getting without receiving fouls.

Refs really trying to make this a series

I rewatched parts of the second half... There were several times where LeBron was screaming at AD about missed rotations and blown defensive assignments... I think AD was pissed about the officiating, but also had enough of LeBron calling him out, given the fact that LeBron tends to stand there on D a lot.

Sounds like that came straight from Bill Simmons and Jackie MacMullan  . Those two are fine.

Just wait till he shows up in the playoff games that count. That's why we brought Green in.
oh wait

Well since the 2014 finals Green's playoffs numbers have been awful. He used up all the magic in 13 and 14.

This team is excellent.

Rondo, Caruso, LeBron, AD, Howard, Markieff

I could see KCP, Green, Kuzma being moved for a couple more consistent SFs

KCP has really been good all year to get us that Corner three. Green is too hard to trade before the next deadline due to what he is owed. However, Kuzma, i'm all for trading him for any average to above average three point shooter if possible. Again if possible, Kuzma has really hurt any of his trade value this year.

Yeah true, I pulled out KCP, I actually meant AB.

Green, AB, McGee, Kuzma all expire end of 2021 and could be interesting to a team like the Rockets for Gordon, Covington, House.

The Lakers don't want money coming back they have plans for 2021. They want cap cleared.

Clearing cap space would be dangerous, they need to operate as an over the cap team and trade expirings for large contracts teams don't want to pay. They could keep their best 7 guys and trade the rest to bring in CP3 or Harris or Wall

Thrill with another convincing win.

We are less focused in Game 2 defensively. AD was brilliant again.

Olynyk turned out to be the x-factor of Heat. He is Heat's weak spot defensively. However, he can shoot the 3s unlike Bam who can defend and score inside the paint only. He is another dimension Heat can use in the next 2 games even when Bam plays again.

With Dragic and Bam expected to play in Game 3, otherwise they will likely be swept, Heat's defense will be tightened, their paint will be better protected, and their offensive game will be much better with Dragic out there and Nunn being his back up. We should be more focused on both end of the floor and get it done as soon as possible

Hopefully, Green's injury is a minor one

Lakers just need to play D. The offense is there. Great movement, and guys are getting all the looks they want. Lebron is slicing them apart. Stay focused on D...don't get lazy (little of that last night) and the title will be home in 2 games.

If the Heat are to win a game at this point, it’s game 3.
The Lakers need to play hard from the beginning with their biggest effort of the year in game 3.
And it has to start on D.
Their rotations have been terrific and crisp. They need refreshed intensity for game 3.
This series is far from over. We still need to bring it every game.

Slava wrote:I expected the zone to be easy with LeBron and AD in the middle of it but Howard's passing on the move has been a revelation this series. A lot of attention is going to Rondo' shooting emergence as a late career skill development and rightly so but Howard's advanced passing reads will get him paid. I can see Dallas, Boston, Houston and even Clippers wanting him.

I agree, was really surprised as well. Lots of instances where he received a feed during a break and fakes out a drive to a drop to AD. He's also smart coming out of doubles and is very patient now in finding the open man for jumpers.

That middle spot in the zone and the baseline is where he'll do lots of damage, much like Bron and AD. Actually had multiple opportunities to get the ball there but he wasn't given the rock, which I understand, but I appreciate that he never stops moving and getting to exploited areas even if he isn't getting the ball.

Hope he stays with the Lakers long term.

Went back and watched the replay of Kuzma's "Magic Johnson" pass and thought to myself...Wow, he completely disregarded the easy pass to AD OR LeBron as both of them were running towards the hoop.

I liked how AD and LeBron looked at each other and just ran to the opposite end of the court without helping Kuzma up because that type of dumb style of play should not be tolerated.

I expect a close Heat win tonight and we finish it in Game 5 with two straight blowouts.

If Bam and Dragic don't play, anything less than a sweep is unacceptable.

It's an NBA championship, that's so hard to get. They had to be the best team in the NBA to get to the top of the pyramid.

Agreed. I had them in 5 with Dragic and Bam playing so I don't see why they should drop 1, when their other two are injured.
I get it, dropping a game is definitely possible. This team currently looks engaged. We shot like crap from the 3 last game and it never really felt like we were going to lose even though the Heat hung around 10pts. I think we play better defense this game and take their souls so it can be finished by game 4.

It's really about how the Lakers show up.
Even if Bam and Goran play, if the Lakers play with intensity specially on the defensive end, they are the better team. Bigger, stronger, deeper, and more talented, and should win.
On the other hand, the Heat can win even without Bam and Goran if the Lakers play lackadaisically, and without intensity.

I don't see LBJ and AD allowing complacency to set in. Same with Rondo and KCP and Green.
These vets see blood in the water and I expect ferocious intensity.

I sure hope you’re right. AD is so young and dominant though as if he’s playing against shorter college players the way he scores and rebound easily on put backs etc that it’s possible he gets bored in the first half at least. Olynik and Crowder might instigate something by playing extra physical.. anything to get get some kind of edge. Last year’s finals outcome were not as once sided until KD and Klay got injured so this game should not be taken for granted. I can see Lebron wanting to finish this asap.

Miami playing it smart. They know this series is over, why risk injury and compromise their future. Only thing worth tuning in for is AD and Lebron gunning for MVP.
