He's actually not a hall of famer despite being eligible for about 15ish years. He was a really good player but never even made an all star team, let alone all NBA or anything that a hall of famer would have.
He was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame in 2017. The fact that he's not yet in the Naismith Memorial HOF is an absolute travesty, considering that someone like Dino Radja - Toni's less talented Croatian national team sidekick who had four good but unremarkable seasons with the Celtics (with a single, brief and unsuccesful playoff appearance) - got in years ago.
Kukoc is simply one of the greatest ever, and you can't punish him for playing with MJ. He must have done something to piss off the HOF people, as these neverending snubs can't be explained logically.
Lol I'm not punishing him for playing with MJ. He was still in his prime when the Bulls broke up and he did absolutely nothing productive the rest of his career. Toni was a really good role player. He's not a hall of famer. Cool for FIBA. It's like trying Robert Horry is a hall of famer. You have to at least be a multiple time all star to be a hall of famer in my book and preferebly all nba player.
Robert Horry???
Just admit you know absolutely nothing about Kukoc's career before he came into the NBA. And you're free to invent whatever criteria you like for HOF selection, but the actual fact remains that it's not an NBA Hall of Fame.
Nikos Galis, a Greek League and Euroleague legend who never stepped foot on an NBA floor, is in the Naismith HOF. So are many other players whose NBA and international accomplishments pale in comparison to Toni's. He's a Top 5 All-Time Euro player, without question. It's incredibly disrespectful that he hasn't been inducted.
Of course, Jordan would probably HATE it if Kukoc got in. After all, that would mean that he had the good fortune to play with not one, not two, but THREE Hall of Famers. That wouldn't be good, gotta protect the legacy.
