Jimmy Butler had the 2nd best performance in NBA Finals history by Game Score tonight

With his 40/10/13/2/2 performance tonight, Jimmy Butler received a Game Score of 41.7, the second-highest in NBA Finals history.

Onl Lebron James at had a better game score 42.5 after Game 6 vs the Warriors in 2016.

He put the Heat on his back to close out this must-win game, missing their 2nd & 3rd best players.

great performance by butler. would've been even better if he had it in game 2.

Good work. Game score is kind of a "comic book" type of stat, if you know what I mean (i.e., for entertainment only), but Butler had one heck of a game tonight.

Butler is the most underrated superstar. Guy gets it done, whether it's points, defense, or playmaking. Better than Durant.

This was such a throwback performance. He had 40pts without a SINGLE 3pt attempt. Driving the ball, posting up, and midrange.

Where was this guy in first 2 games. Could be easily leading the serie if he wasn't so inconsistent. One game 30, next 15...

The question is whether or not Butler can sustain this superstar level performance the whole way through to the end...

If he doesn't have this every game, Heat chances fall straight down...especially them being already undermanned.

He'd have to be like this the rest of the series if the Heat want to win the title. i just hope he's not tired AND that he gets this much of the calls from the referees (he deserved it for his sheer aggressiveness alone)

yeah because AIs game 1 agaisnt the Lakers isnt still talked about to this day. The reality is this performance will go down in the books no matter what happens in this series. They had absolutely no right winning that game

Unfair comparison.

Game Score was only recorded as a statistic starting in the 1983-84 season.

LeBron has the #1 ranked Game Score Finals game. MJ isn't even top 7.

I love Butler but I don’t know what this game score is supposed to represent because that’s not even a top 20 performance by an individual in a finals game let alone top 2, so what is the value of ‘game score’?

Then name 20 finals performances that are better.

Doesn't get much better than 40/13/11/2/2 on absurd efficiency
