This whole finals thing is getting into the way of all the gossip about The Knicks offseason moves.

he was horrible for the 1st 3 qtrs. But man he has some big stones to take a few of those big shots he did to help close out the game. The kid does not lack confidence and he's a big time shot maker at 20 years old.

Consistency will come when Herro has some experience. Right now, he shows all the talents that we want in a player - and he does it under pressure. I remember "Trust the Process," but Philly seems to have squandered much of what they got from those awful years. Riley has put together a really exciting team from almost nothing. The guy deserves credit for an incredible job, even though they will probably lose to LA in 5 or 6.

That’s because they fired the guy doing it and made some awful decisions, including letting a guy go who just hung a 40 point triple double in the Finals.

It’s amazing how far back bad management can drag you

Or maybe they arent as good as they're made out to be.

I kinda agree. I think they could still lose this series if they are not careful.

Yes, I agree the Lakers aren't a very talented "team" they are basically LeBron and AD. If those guys aren't laser focused they could lose to anyone. It did take an all time legendary performance from Jimmy Butler to knock them off...but then again the heat 2nd and 3rd best player missed the last two games too. If they come back...who knows what will happen?

Is he saying he doesn't have a good midrange game or that he does? I guess just don't get the point...if it was a subtle jab at someone or not

It isn't a jab.

Teams that win championships have someone that can score inside the 3 point line and not have all the points be layups.

Anthony Davis is the midrange player on the Lakers.
Butler is the midrange player on the Heat.

Teams around the NBA better pray DeAndre Ayton never becomes a consistent threat in the paint, or it's going to be a problem for them with how easy it is for Devin Booker to get midrange shots that never seem to miss.

Gaines been living off that 90's Bulls rep a long time. That was many moons ago. Everything he's said pretty much from his PJax time to now hasn't impressed me much.

I think it's Gaines talking sh*t and touting old school basketball, where a good mid range was a good thing.

I don't think it's a knock on anyone in particular, but probably at the "modern" game in general.

Would fit into him touting bigs earlier.

They aren't mutually exclusive.

Basically, look at them both as defending "old school" basketball, and probably the triangle.

"Need bigs, the mid range still has value" etc.

He's not specifically wrong but isn't specifically right either.

In the end, it comes down to talent, roster construction, so the talented pieces compliment each other's skill set and provide the diverse set of useful skills across the rotation

I don't think so.

I think he's got a decent bball mind.

He's just annoyingly chirpy bringing up facts that hundreds of other guys affiliated with the NBA past or present could do

i know exactly what he's doing. it's all about defending the triangle. correct. but golden state pre-durant did happen. there's multiple ways to win. he just wants to act like his way is the only way so he can pretend he's smarter than everyone else.
