I don't think so.

I think he's got a decent bball mind.

He's just annoyingly chirpy bringing up facts that hundreds of other guys affiliated with the NBA past or present could do

if he was a great scout, which is his actual job, he would get hired by people other than phil jackson. but he doesn't. what does that tell you ?

They aren't mutually exclusive.

Basically, look at them both as defending "old school" basketball, and probably the triangle.

"Need bigs, the mid range still has value" etc.

He's not specifically wrong but isn't specifically right either.

In the end, it comes down to talent, roster construction, so the talented pieces compliment each other's skill set and provide the diverse set of useful skills across the rotation

i know exactly what he's doing. it's all about defending the triangle. correct. but golden state pre-durant did happen. there's multiple ways to win. he just wants to act like his way is the only way so he can pretend he's smarter than everyone else.

And then they needed a midrange player in Durant to win 2 more.

they got him specifically because he shot midrange or because he was the best scorer in basketball ?

It isn't a jab.

Teams that win championships have someone that can score inside the 3 point line and not have all the points be layups.

Anthony Davis is the midrange player on the Lakers.
Butler is the midrange player on the Heat.

Teams around the NBA better pray DeAndre Ayton never becomes a consistent threat in the paint, or it's going to be a problem for them with how easy it is for Devin Booker to get midrange shots that never seem to miss.

Yea, midrange is def still important especially in playoff basketball to get tough baskets.

But always seems like he sends out those subtle jabs...Sounds like he may have been firing shots at the analytical crowd and the people knocking the triangle

He isn't one of the best because of his 3 pointers. He is one of the best because of his midrange.

i'm sure if giannis decides he wants to join golden state this year, the warriors will say "no giannis, we don't want you, you don't shoot mid-range".

They will let him join but he's still easy to defend it he has to dunk to score.

it's easy to pack the paint to stop him but you if you leave curry or klay open to do so, good luck with that.

They would play him at the Center position to be around the rim.

Agreed. I think he's missing the forest for the trees to an extent too though. The main thing you still need in the playoffs is guys that can hit clutch shots for you in isolation and these could come from anywhere on the court. It still often comes down to that ultimately.

Giannis should be playing at the Center position in Milwaukee but it seems like they are too afraid to tell him, in fear that it will upset him and make him leave.

Would the Knicks help the Warriors and take their #2 pick and Draymond in order for them to get Giannis?

The player that elevated the Warriors from playoff team to title contenders is Dray. At his size the ability to defend both the post and the perimeter while also being versatile on offense he was the prototype of the modern big in the pace and space era.

Sure, they don't win titles without Curry, Klay and additionally Durant but without Dray the death line up doesn't happen and his emergence coincides with the Warriors rise to being what they became.

they need to trade that pick to get him i would think. and milwauke would have to take wiggins or draymond to make salaries match. or get a 3rd team involved. it's not an easy trade to make.

Minny and GS should both look to trade their picks IMO, trade down or get a player.

Consistency will come when Herro has some experience. Right now, he shows all the talents that we want in a player - and he does it under pressure. I remember "Trust the Process," but Philly seems to have squandered much of what they got from those awful years. Riley has put together a really exciting team from almost nothing. The guy deserves credit for an incredible job, even though they will probably lose to LA in 5 or 6.

That’s because they fired the guy doing it and made some awful decisions, including letting a guy go who just hung a 40 point triple double in the Finals.

It’s amazing how far back bad management can drag you

So, the net result is the fans suffered, the teams tanked and stunk, they got great picks, and they have almost nothing to show for all of that. That seems to put them in a league with other consistenly long term bad teams -- including my favorite team. I hope my favorite team's new management can do what nobody has done for us in over a decade. I'll keep an open mind and be hopeful, but not expect much until I see something to make be believe in them.

Trust the process now seems to mean, "Do you want it up your butt or do you want to get clobbered over the head? We decide, you suffer."
