A coach has to think a step ahead of what's happening on the floor and make decisions. That's why they say coaching is a chess game.
I don't know how or why you fail to see this.
If you want to talk with me, I'd appreciate a little civility, Nick? Just because I'm a fan who wants to enjoy my team, enjoy the games, and enjoy our board, it doesn't mean I fail to see anything.
In the NBA, great players can win a title despite a mediocre coach. If Doc is mediocre, Garnett's Celtics still won despite Doc.
And in defense of firing Doc--lacking a Jordan or a Magic or a LeBron--or Garnett--all other championship teams catch lightning in a bottle to some degree. And I will say that Doc lacks imagination. THAT is his biggest flaw. As a coach, and when he was our GM/PoBO too. He lacks a certain magic. But as for mistakes? Meh.
I'm not going to relitigate this. Zu's minutes were doubled; Trezz's cut in half. And we ALL know Trezz is a crap rebounder, doesn't box out and is no rim protector either. But we did not lose this on the defensive end--we lost because we were averaging under 40 points in the second half. EVERYBODY was dogshtt.
The team fell apart. But not because of Xs and Os. NBA championship coach Ty Lue was in Doc's ear and Sam was in the players' ear. The game was lost on the floor. Anybody who says ANY coach [Brad Stevens? Red Auerbach?] could have got us in and out of The Bubble with the Larry needs to start telling us how.
Doc is gone, but the failure was organizational, from the FO to the coach to every single player--except for Zu and Kawhi except for Game 7 when he laid down like a dog too. And it was because Kawhi quit on him that Doc should be--and was--fired.
Frankly, as a fan of both teams, I don't think Doc can give the Sixers a heart transplant either. The Clips, and the Sixers too, went down in The Bubble for lack of heart, not for lack of brains.
Lack of soul. The combination of both. Some all it magic.
There was zero critique from you last summer on how the organization approached the year.
When the PG trade was criticized, you said nothing.
When LM was criticized, you said nothing.
Now when Doc gets fired, you have critiques for the org, the trade, etc. etc.?
Make it make sense.
Hey bro---back off uno momento, por favor? I respect your opinions, and all I ask in return is that you state mine fairly.
What chases away good and great people from our board is a handful of creeps who pollute EVERY thread with mindless negativity. Day to day. Game after game. All year long. 24/7. And they know NOTHING about basketball. Proven wrong 49 times this year, and then made EVERY victory a misery.
That's my beef. I want to enjoy our team and this board as a community. We're all here on the internet together like a virtual bar, because LA is a Lakers town, and there's no place except Staples at $100 a ticket we can all get together.
And if we did, we wouldn't want to be ANYWHERE near the creeps who sometimes dominate this board.
You know THAT's a fact. Pay $100 a ticket for some creep to sit next to you telling you why we're gonna lose???
NO. FFFFN. WAY.

As for what I criticize and what I don't, if you poke through my posts here AS A FAN, you'll find very little negativity. I try to UNDERSTAND why the org does what it does. I can explain the logic behind drafting Jerome Robinson instead of Michael Porter Jr. and so can you, but in the end, if St. Jerry West had gone to Ballmer and said draft Porter instead, we would have. Porter came up big, and Jerome became nothing more than a throw-in in a trade.
Who is to blame??
As a lawyer yourself, you should really do some due diligence on me.
I was able to retire early because I understood law firms better than they understood themselves. I know quite a bit about the law, and I know a bit about basketball, but what I really know is how organizations work, the 30,000 foot view, and that's how I made my money.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The Clippers would not be on the verge of a championship right now if only Doc had benched Trezz.
I wrote this in reverse order with the "Executive Summary" last instead of first, trusting you'll get the joke because I do respect you.
Frankly, I don't know what the Clippers should do in this offseason, never claimed to know what they should do last summer either. But I correctly predicted the Clippers WOULD sign Kawhi when all the negative creeps had given up all hope. Look it up, bro. That's how I made my money. Analyzing organizations. I didn't see the Doc firing coming, but understood immediately that he was the logical scapegoat.
And deservedly so. I quit this board for a few days after the Game 7 debacle and the descent of the cackling vultures---but did you know some players asked to be taken off the court in the final minutes of Game 7? They did NOT go down fighting. Therefore, there was NO reason to bring "Players' Coach" Rivers back.
It was because of the final minutes of Game 7 that I supported kicking Doc to the curb. But I was already out of this board for awhile, Quake. There is no reasoning with vultures.

Back to our board:
So now the creeps are already making noises they're going to ruin our board next season too if the right moves aren't made. What moves? They never say. There's a pattern here.
Plus ça change. The more things change, the more they remain the same. I've really been trying to get out of here for awhile and let the vultures enjoy their feast. I only came back because my email notified me you replied and I came back out of respect for you
I've had my say. Peace. Let them have our board for now. Hope to catch you back down the line.
Respectfully submitted,
Tom

LATE ADD
https://fadeawayworld.net/2020/10/01/steve-ballmer-reportedly-went-ballistic-after-clippers-got-bounced-in-second-round/The departure of Doc Rivers was one the first one to go, but there may be plenty more changes in the weeks and months ahead for this team.
Spearheading those changes will be team owner Steve Ballmer who, in a new report told on the Ryan Russillo podcast, was described as going “ballistic” following their Game 7 loss — to the point where he had to be dissuaded from of getting rid of everyone (players and coaches included).
Additionally, Russillo and Simmons talked about how Michael Porter Jr.’s inspiring performance only added fuel to the fire, as Ballmer questioned why the front-office staff looked over him in the 2018 draft.
Evidently, someone had to pay for the team’s failures — and coach Rivers was the guy. After seven years with the team, the Clippers have nothing to really show for all that time but some good regular-season records and second-round exits.
Looking ahead, nobody knows when the storm will end. Players will be moved, as Ballmer’s displeasure will force the hand of the front-office. But what this team may look like (or play like) next season is anyone’s guess at this point.
It’s just a huge mess.
