Despite the #2 seed in West last season and WCF this season, this Denver core is still not recognized enough for sure, actually not even close they deserved. I know Denver/Colorado is a small market, but I'm pretty sure that Carmelo Anthony already as a sophomore (if not as a rookie) was *more popular* than Jokic and Murray together today!? Kind of injustice from my point of the view.

Anybody see the finals ratings? Game 7 of the Clippers series drew significantly better numbers than either of the finals games so far, maybe the league will realize that fans are not buying Lebron and the refs walking all over the small markets anymore. Game 1 was the lowest rated in recorded NBA finals history and game 2 was significantly worse.

Another proof that Nuggets are still under the radar despite WC 2nd seed in 2019 and WCF 2020.

According to 2021 NBA champion first betting odds Nuggets chances are estimated once again as the underdog as 20:1, tied #8-#10 with starless Toronto and imploded Houston.

4-1 Los Angeles Lakers
5-1 Los Angeles Clippers
8-1 Brooklyn Nets
9-1 Golden State Warriors
12-1 Milwaukee Bucks
12-1 Boston Celtics
16-1 Miami Heat
20-1 Toronto Raptors
20-1 Houston Rockets
20-1 Denver Nuggets
25-1 Dallas Mavericks
33-1 Philadelphia 76ers
33-1 Portland Trail Blazers
40-1 New Orleans Pelicans
40-1 Phoenix Suns
40-1 Utah Jazz
...etc...

Actually, all 2020 conference finalists are underrated (except Lakers), but Nuggets the most. Miami and Boston are young teams with ambitious management and with just one single missing piece (Boston center, Miami 3rd star), and depending on offseason deals Mavs and Sixers can become very competitive too. But if we really want to be one of the top contenders in everybody's mind, not just another dark horse, we need to redirect SG Harris+Barton $30M+ into a one star-guard IMO.

Ranking Houston ahead of Denver is a joke. They'll have a new head coach. They've proven their current roster can't handle the playoffs. They have to make a big trade and/or blow up their roster.

Golden State probably shouldn't be ahead of Denver either. Certainly they are getting back a couple of super stars but there have been other roster changes - lots of them. Chemistry can be an issue.

I'm more surprised by Brooklyn Nets being that much better graded despite their franchise player Durant suffers a type of the injury from which so far only one single player ever fully recovered (Dominique Wilkins), and their 2nd star Irving due injuries missed for his teams two playoffs in past three years.

So I'm actually much more afraid of GSW than Nets, a franchise which knows how to win the ring, and which can easily translate #2 pick and Wiggins into the all-star player and useful center (for example B.Beal and T.Bryant, or Jrue, Hayes, and Hart...).

Put Denver in the same range with Houston and Toronto is ridiculous from today's point of view! Houston has no room for improvement and the Nuggets are already this season better team. The same with Toronto, which is a worse team than Houston despite the better regular-season record. In theory, they can replace veteran Marc Gasol with FA big name, but I more see their problems to keep VanVleet and Ibaka than gain some notable FA name from not impressive 2020 FA market, and even if Ujiri still finds a way to improve their roster compared to this season, no surprise if Lowry decline at 35.

You guys have to remember those are betting odds, they set the lones where they can get the most best on both sides. Large markets and teams known internationally always have inflated odds as they have more irrational fans.

Well deserved title for the Lakers and FMVP for LeBron in this unique and strange season. With WCF Nuggets tied franchise-best result.

Next season is going to be more competitive with GSW and Nets in and almost all good team will be very probably improved (Lakers, Clippers, Denver, Miami, Boston, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Dallas).

So you think their title was "well deserved" ? Ask the refs if they get their ring too ??? Whether by LBJ, Silver, or just some crooked refs, anything but "well deserved"...

There is no such sport where the biggest franchise and the biggest superstar are not at least a little bit "protected".

But refs help will not give you a 16-6 record in a playoff without home-court advantage and with 20+ lead at some point in more than half of these wins or in 36y old LeBron case 28-11-9 (65%TS%) numbers. Lakers/LeBron/Davis/Voegl deserved respect for this season title.

I know there is such a thing as "superstar calls" but I saw TWO Nuggets/Lakers games where is was more than obvious that the refs controlled the game for the Lakers. And if you don't want to believe me, ask Tim Donaghy he can tell you about it.

2 games? The refs affected all 5 games and were heavily in the Lakers favor, the difference was when the refs got involved. In every game there was at least a 4-6 minute stretch where Nuggets were being mauled with no calls and getting called for touch fouls on the other end.

I do take a little solace in the fact that depending on this game's final ratings this is likely the lowest rated series in league history. Worse than 2007 which featured Lebron and both of which were lower than 1981 when finals games were on tape delay for most of the country. The ratings have been tracked since 1974 so that is pretty damn bad. In 2007 they blamed the low ratings on nobody wanting to watch Duncan and the Spurs so it should only follow that nobody wanted to watch Lebron and the Lakers this time.

NBA Leaning Toward Starting 20-21 Season 'Sooner Rather Than Later'

Good to see the NBA board once again targeting Christmas and MLK weekend for the start of the next season instead of March.

There is no guarantee for "everything will be OK until March" theory and we see this summer that August is a TV-ratings nightmare for NBA playoff. Also, starting the latter this season will already damage the 2021-22 season in which I guess everything will really be OK and pandemic free.

Agree. It would be nice in the Winter to have some pro basketball to watch. I wonder how the players feel about that?

2019 #2 seed on West and 2020 WCF is maybe still not enough for the recognition this Nuggets team deserves. According to NBA 2K21 video game players ratings, Nikola Jokic is ranked around #15 in the League with 90pts and Jamal Murray around #30 with 87pts.

https://www.2kratings.com/lists/top-100-highest-nba-2k-ratings

According to this list, there are 10 teams in NBA with a better duo in 2021 than Jokic+Murray

On a positive note, they already recognize MPJ as an NBA TOP75 player.

Denver is involved in 4 out of the TOP10 bubble moves! Jamal Murray stole the show with three appearances (one of them he probably wants to forget  )

Looks like Nov is going to be Fast & Furious with player movements. GM's had best be preparing as it looks like Free Agency will start shortly after the draft
