Biggest dumbass mistake was mistaking Happ with CC, Andy, Moose or Kuroda. Those vets were super effective with their minds and guile. Happ is happless without his youth.

Let’s hope this is old Charlie Morton and not Houston Astros Charlie Morton pitching tonight.
Regardless, won’t matter since the offense hasn’t been the problem.

Re: New York Yankees Thread
Gary is not a major league starter anymore. He can't DH because he doesn't hit for average or draw walks. His power production is way down. And he's a horrible defensive player. They need to stick with Higgy in the lineup.
Also, Boone does not make the decisions on this team. He follows whatever the front office tells him to do.
I still have faith that we're going to win, but they cannot afford to lose any more games due to poor management decisions. Everyone in the entire tri-state area knew that putting Happ in was an awful move.

Re: New York Yankees Thread
My big concern is that Steinbrenner will not spend any real money this offseason and that the Yankees rotation will be relying even more on Montgomery, Garica and Schmidt than a team like the Yankees should have to at this point in their careers.

Doesn't German come back next year?

Yeah but I'm not sure what type of pitcher he will be. Severino will come back mid season (roughly) assuming no set backs but you just never know right? For a team like the Yankees I can't see them needing to avoid spending more. I get that they have Cole and Stanton's contracts but they are the Yankees.

And Severino. Yankees should not need to go out and sign another teams high priced free agent pitcher at this point after signing Cole last year.
Cole
Tanaka (resigned)
Severino
German
Garcia
Montgomery
Schmidt
That's a good, potentially very good young starting staff that is potentially deep as well. I wouldn't blame Steinbrenner for not going out and breaking the bank for a Bauer or other SP. Resign Tanaka, sign another depth 4th or 5th starter and go to war with what you have.
All-Time Draft

Kahnle going down hurt us. Betances sucking and leaving too. We need a few more lights out guys. We are training loaisiga to be lights out. We had some lights out guys that we dont have right now, bullpen not as good as under Joe.
At least Robertson showed he can pitch in the post season and we let him walk.

Passan “Yankees are where they are now because they do not develop starting pitching”
Wow good point
Kay “200 million dollar pay roll so that means your money is not well spent”
Agreed, besides Cole, yankees always being cheap with starters. Granted Severino and Pax went down, should of still made a move.

Felt like we were turning a corner with German, Sevy, Deivi, Schmidt, Montgomery, etc... We just gotta keep our guys healthy and maybe trust them more.

Higi did earn it. Hopefully he’s a breakout catcher.
Gardner a good teammate backing up Gary.

Behind Cole, there are nothing but question marks for starting pitching.

Re: New York Yankees Thread
Tanaka hasn’t looked good for a while, has no command on his pitches.
