Hi guys, hope all is well.

How about #2 (LaMelo?) + Chriss for #8 + Bobby Portis + 2022 FRP?

not if the NBA lets high schoolers back in the draft which sounds likely in 2022
B2B 2021-22 & 2022-23 BAF Champion Spurs:

ROSTER

Nic Claxton/Walker Kessler/Jeff Green
Nikola Jokic/Jonathan Kuminga/Dean Wade
Cam Johnson/Josh Hart/Kenrich Williams

Technically yes but it’s widely speculated the league is going to change the rules and allow high school players to go straight to the nba again, and if they do it would be 2022

To summarize what the Athletic guys (not me) are proposing are the following:

Trade #1 (Knicks and Wolves):

Julius Randle + 38th pick to Minny for James Johnson, Omari Spellman + 17th pick...concept is Randle as the 3rd option.

Trade #2 (Knicks and Bulls):

Dennis Smith Jr + 8th pick to the Bulls for Thaddeus Young + 4th pick...part of a salary move for the Bulls who sheds 2 years $30 million of Thad Youngs contract.

Trade #3 (Knicks and Pacers):

Wayne Ellington + 2021 Knicks 1st rounder (lottery protected) + 2021 Mavricks 1st rounder (lottery protected) for Victor Oladipo

Trade #4 (Knicks and Warriors):

MItchell Robinson + 8th pick to the Warriors for Jordan Poole + 2nd overall pick + (possibly Kevon Looney and/or a future 1st)...with argument that the Knicks may not want to pay Robinson what it'll likely take to resign him

Trade #5 (Knicks and Pistons):

Knicks 27th pick + 38th pick for Luke Kenard and the Lakers 2021 2nd round pick

---

Trade #1 would seem to make the most sense and be the easiest to swallow. With the 17th pick the Knicks could potentially land one of the young guys that would be too early a pick with the 8th pick and Bloodsport would give them a vet gamer that is more versatile overall than Randle for 1 season (Johnson is expiring).

Trade #2 is kinda fools gold IMO. $25 million is a bit much to jump 4 spots to the 4th spot in a 3 player draft. I don't hate DSJr that much.

Trade #3 could be fine if the lottery protection turns into future 2nd round picks if either/both are lottery in 2021. That's worth getting Oladipo in and seeing what he can do. Wouldn't do it if it's something wacky like decreasing protection until it's unprotected. That would be a big no for me cause at that point the Knicks can just wait for Oladipo in free agency a year from now.

Trade #4 - That doesn't seem to be enough. Not sure.

Trade #5 - Not sure if I'd be into this Kenard will be a free agent after this upcoming season, has injury concerns and the Knicks might as well just go after Joe Harris and kill 2 birds with 1 stone (take him from the Nets for probably about the same as you'll need to pay Kenard in a year, plus you get to keep your draft picks).

I like Trade one. If they really like Melo,Maybe bundle 8 and 17 for the #2 without trading Mitch. Prefer to use both picks.

Not sure about trade 2 , Hell no to trades 3-5.

Yeah trade #1 would be the only one that I'd do without much thought.

I would do Trade #2 without adding Smith and they add a 2nd rounder. I will eat 30 mil to move up for Deni - who I think will be excellent - but any additional assets come our way. Would love to figure out a way to make it bigger so we can get Lauri, who I think is a perfect fit next to Mitchell.

Right trade 2 makes sense if you really like someone in that 4-5 range.

Can't sleep and had a crazy idea. What about bringing OJ Mayo in for a workout? If he turned if life around maybe its time to bring him back to the league.

Return to New York Knicks
