He has such a good skill-set for ageing gracefully in the NBA. He can shift to a playmaker role or he can play primarily as a big. The all-round game that has allowed him to dominate for 17-years will also allow him to transition into a highly effective lesser role.

With Davis as his running made, a more playmaker focused role appears likely (and I think we saw a fair bit of that already in the regular season).

The GB is actually worse than r/NBA. The only place where I can read (mostly) high quality basketball discussion on the entire internet is this board. Don't even know how I found it but I'm so happy I did.

I think of the General Board like a tourist attraction. It's fun to stop by and watch the massive salt mountains after LeBron wins but you don't want to actually stay there for too long. All that salt is not good for one's health.

The Cavs championship was a storyline that will last forever in NBA lore. Doing it with that franchise, against the 73 win team, coming back from down 3-1... epic stuff. But what happened with the Lakers this year is going to be something with historical staying power too, probably more so than any of the Miami titles. The pandemic, the Kobe death, the bubble setup... plus it’s just bigger doing it as a Laker from a media standpoint. They are going to make documentaries about this run, and they’re all going to end with a 17th year Lebron dominating on the biggest stage.

I know Lebron is probably planning one of those 10 part documentaries himself for years down the line... it will be a crazy story. This season alone would deserve a couple episodes

I understand that but this isn't anything you shouldn't expect from the NBA media. It's the only sport where GOAT discussions weigh so heavily and it simply is what it is. You always have the choice of simply not tuning in.

Right like I'm admittedly a huge LeBron stan but idc who your GOAT is in this situation. Literally their first comments when ESPN cut to them was "well uhhh there's gonna be a lot of people who never watched Jordan saying that LeBron's better but he's not." Complete **** clownery

Does anyone know if his playoff PER stayed above 30 after tonight? And how about Davis? They were both I believe at 30.1 and 30.0 entering the game. I figure Davis may have dipped under but I have no idea how to calculate it

Reminds me of when he broke Jordan’s playoffs scoring record and all Miller and company could say was “BuT hE pLaYeD MoRe GaMeS” not considering that he had taken fewer shots and also had many more assists.

^I'm no expert on calculating PER, but I don't see how this game would dip his overall playoffs PER below 30. 28-point triple double with just 1 TO and shooting 13-20? It has to still be above 30.

It was a 92 possession game, so 28/14/10 on 65% shooting is easily keeping him above the 30 mark.

PER seems heavily sensitive to TOs and it was a low possession game. Should almost certainly stay above 30.
