For all we know all star pascal would’ve showed up after the Celtics series

Also Lakers got lucky and had favourable matchups throughout the playoffs.

Dodged the Bucks, Clippers, and Raptors

Agreed.

NBA is all about matchups.

If it makes u feel better, or worse I don’t know. Why bother torturing yourselves when we have facts. Siakam and Gasol were the worst offensive starting 4-5 combo in the playoffs. Good luck beating Lebron and AD with that.

I'd like Raptors chances provided we shut down everyone not named AD and Lebron. Raptors have enough defensive prowess to cover and switch all day long. AD and Lebron both can have their 35ppg and IMO I would still bet on the Raptors.

Also I feel like Boston and the Clippers were our worst matchups because they both had good versatility.

Every other team I truly felt confident against. And I’m one of the pessimistic Raps fans that has gone through the Araujo, Loren Woods, Milt Palacio, etc era’s.

That’s how good our defense was this season

Kawhi, LeBron, and AD would've been horrible for the league. Worse than KD with Warriors probably

I think the Lakers secret was that "they have no egos". Bwahaha.

Damn, a lot of Raptor fans really still upset how LBJ dogged us before last year. I’ll admit it’s still hard to call him the GOAT over Jordan, but he definitely deserves to be 1b. Pure basketball IQ at its finest.

Dude is afraid to go up and take the shot to win the title yet you even want to go so far as to put him in the same breath as MJ? lol. I think you need to go back and re-watch The Last Dance if you're still confused about who the GOAT is. I think the debate should still be, is LBJ better than Kobe because even that is debatable.

LeBron continues to further establish himself as the GOAT. That was clear after 2016 (the Finals win that finally triggered MJ enough to give the go ahead on last summer’s propaganda doc), but it is even more certain now. He is quite literally shattering every individual record ever made and he’s nowhere close to being done.

It was also comical that anybody thought AD would ever win Finals MVP here. LeBron is not only by far the best player on that team but also by far the best player in the league and he’s doing it in his 17th year at age 36. Absolutely ridiculous and unprecedented.

MJ is still the GOAT in my eyes but Lebron is a clear cut second now, and it doesn't look like he's slowing down yet. The Lakers are one of the favorites to repeat next year if AD resigns, he might get his 5th.

Pretty sure he’s talking about staying with us. But yeah, if he went to the lakers that would have been crazy.

LBJ is the greatest of all time in my opinion, but of course, this is a very subjective debate and I don't blame you if you disagree. He can still be the best player in the league next season, in year 18, absolute madness

It's not subjective. It's just wrong. Jordan won essentially 6 straight titles, and would've won 8.

It would not be far-fetched to say 9 in row, if it was for Krause and Reinsford. GOAT did win his last title at 35 as both regular season and NBA finals MVP.
LeBron has not won a regular season MVP in his 30s. He has not won one in almost 10 years!

Based on what though? he has not won a regular season MVP in almost 10 years. Giannis has been the most dominant player in the last couple of years and has yet to play with any player like Kyrie Irving or Anthony Davis. At the same age(35), GOAT was both regular season and NBA Finals MVP.

can you imagine Shaq and Kobe lose 2 games against a team made of Duncan Robinson, Tyler Herro, Crowder, injured Dragic, injured Bam and Jimmy Butler. Let's be realistic.
1. GOAT 27.91
2. LeBron 27.49
3. AD 27.42
4. Shaq 26.43
26. Kobe 22.9

Greatest of his time and his time goes on and on and on....
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Amidst celebration, the Lakers are heading straight into a challenging off-season.

Unlike the Raptors, who despite losing Kawhi, had ascending talent at nearly every position (Fred at PG, Norm at SG, OG at SF, Pascal at PF), the Lakers are facing the possibility of a notable step back next season, with expected age-derived drop-offs coming from Green, McGee, Rondo, Howard if they re-sign him... and lastly, yes, even Lebron.

They'll likely be hesitant to make moves off of a championship winning season, but therein lies the trap: they won't be good enough if they run it back by rotating Howard and McGee at the 5 with an extra year on their backs. Alternatively, shifting Davis to C and going full-Kuzma at the 4 will win them a few regular season games, but will ultimately get them comically exploited in the playoffs.

They should probably look to move some of their depth at guard for a starting big. A bundle with Bradley, or Rondo, or Pope, or perhaps even Green with his massive contract, may end up elsewhere, in exchange for a starting big. This will open up minutes for Tucker as well.

At the end of 2021, basically everyone except James and Davis will be coming off the books. By then Lebron's cap hold will become a detriment, becoming a different kind of player. That'll leave Davis in need of a better supporting cast that they may not be able to squeeze under the cap.

Screw AD, screw LBJ and screw all the ring chasing losers that can’t do anything without a super team. An embarrassment to the league, and a stain on the history of basketball.

that doesn't make much sense, the lakers aren't much of a super team. hard to argue that jordan didn't have more help on those 97/98 teams. and i'm a huge jordan stan.

it was lebron/ad doing super heavy lifting. rondo showed there in spurts but lebron elevated all his teammates and does it everywhere he goes. look at the rest of that lakers roster, it's a lottery team. it's okay to give the man his due, even if i feel like this raptor team could have beat them since we were basically a better version of the heat.

at the end of his career he will be the unquestioned goat, and we should really just accept it now. he could play 10 more years and not miss a beat.

LeBron is not the GOAT. Easily top 5 ever and maybe 2nd best. At the end of the day he doesn't have the killer instinct MJ had to win at all costs. LeBron has 4 titles at this stage of his career but should have 5-6. I still expect him to achieve that tally with the Lakers.

Lakers are set to become a mini dynasty. I don't see anyone other than the Clippers challenging. Problem with the Clippers is there will be so much pressure on them next season and they may also screw up by hiring a bad coach.

Lakers won this title easily even though a few things went against them like the absence of Bradley and homecourt advantage which they rightfully earned. Now that they don't have any pressure on them and they will attract some ring chasers in the off season, you can expect them to return stronger in 2021.

Jordan is rn still but Lebron doesnt need 6 rings to be the GOAT just couple more years of great play at this level possibly winning or challenging for 1 more....it will be KAJ being dominant for 20 yrs
