It's highly doubtful Kawhi could have done what you say vs Lebron, but even if he did the Clippers wouldn't win the series, Lakers have AD too.

Don't be too disappointed, Clippers wouldn't have been competitive. They might not even have made it past the 1st round if the Mavs had been healthy.

It's possible but certainly would have been better to see at least we would have known. Kinda Like Spurs/Lakers 2001

That's actually a good proxy for what would have happened.

Kawhi great all-around player, but Lebron is clearly better on offense and Davis clearly better on defense. Then there's the whole issue of Playoff P. The Clippers simply aren't a title contender.

I thought they said Season wouldn't start until January.

You're right, damn I forgot there won't be basketball on Christmas this year.

Lakers v Warriors probably draws the best ratings. Everybody wants to see to what degree the Warriors are still the Warriors. Not that we'll find that out in the first game - but I think its the most intriguing matchup. We kinda know what to expect from the others.

When did Kawhi show it (and if you're really going to reply with 2014 please think twice before you reply)? This was the first time in his career where his team needed him to be that offensive floor general on the floor and he can't do that and that's what puts LeBron in a different tier. RS games don't show much. Lakers would have rolled the Clipppers in 5 especially with AD running circles around PG as the 2nd guy on the team.

Maybe you are right, but Kawhi has always played Lebron well especially since becoming a star. I know Clippers had no one for AD but AD didnt play well vs them either. Wish we got chance to see. Damn you Denver for coming back. :-?

That's my point though, JB. Kawhi played well against Bron when all he had to do was score and defend. When the time came for Kawhi to literally lead a team and be a floor general like other goat level wings or just all timers like MJ Bron Kobe Wade etc. he showed that he can't do it.

So if you put Kawhi next to a Lowry or Parker or just a floor general and let him focus on a couple of things sure Kawhi can play LeBron well. Seeing how LeBron just looked completely in control this entire frigging PS minus game 3 of the Finals, I'm confident Lakers would have beat the Clippers in 5 or 6.

I've never been more certain that a newly-formed star pairing is gonna be a bust than this one. The thought of Kyrie & KD challenging LeBron & AD is laughable.

But there was no one that could guard him in the West, the Heat will be different!

I mean they were missing 2 of their best 3 players for multiple games and still pushed them farther than any team in the west, so . . .

What does that have to do with LeBron being guarded by Jae Crowder?

It's not a 1v1 game. Bam missing games certainly affects their defense. Just saying as a member of the "Miami is gonna be tougher than any of the previous opponents" crew, I feel this series proved that point more than refuted it.

Wow free agency in 1 week...

What should we even be doing?

We have the mle and bi annual right (on top of vet mins)?

I wonder if KCP is okay coming back on a 1 year deal for 2021 cap space?

No, the point was the Heat were gonna present some new challenge that was gonna slow LeBron down. I never saw anything from the Heat that slowed him down with or without Dragic and Bam

So he played 41 minutes. I know all the minutes at the end weren't necessary, but damn I'm glad that Vogel didn't sub him out earlier.

Finals aren't going to be forever. LeBron hasn't had that feeling of playing a whole quarter/half knowing you've won the finals since 2012. I'm sure he enjoyed those moments a lot. Haters will say statpadding, but you earned that. The little bit of showboating was great! That's the 4xFMP

https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/30074130/how-lebron-james-lakers-fought-heartbreak-win-nba-finals

Said one senior Lakers executive, "While some of our so-called rivals spent literally hundreds of millions of dollars trying to win media cycles, we kept our heads down and focused on basketball -- because the only thing we've ever cared about winning is championships."

Spicy quote (clearly Rob Pelinka lol), but the whole article is pretty great.

lmao with the Lakers on top again, nowhere is safe for the Clippers this coming season

I think they will try to rehabilitate their team/culture, but it feels like no one will take them seriously again

It's going to be my favourite thing to see implode next season.

Cracks me up when Bron butchers cliches in his interviews sometimes. Just watching him in a postgame interview talking about making his doubters respect him, he was meaning to say "everything else falls by the wayside" but it came out as "everything else falls at the waistline" My man got that jewelry though, he can say whatever he wants :D

2012 G6 ECF, and the G5 2012, G7 2013, G5-7 2016 Finals also had this same feeling, but this is more a relief than anything tbh.

They could've lost with LeBron playing like this in G7, and it wouldn't (shouldn't) change his ranking cause his level of play didn't change, so it's more a relief that it gets proper credit rather than joy, I guess (when compared to those other times)
