Hi guys, what are your thoughts about Dario Saric? I think he has a Qualifying Offer (QO); If he doesn't opt for that, he'll become a free agent?
Thinking we'd package our #2 for him + your guys' 2020 #10 pick?

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
I think the Knicks should take Toppin. Thibs would be a great coach for him and might teach to guard at an acceptable level. Plus they could use a go to scorer and the best way to use Toppin is as the 1 or 2 offensive option because if he can be legit at that then you could justify building some of the other pieces to offset his weaknesses.
The only problem is they lack a PG to actually feed him the ball but they should be in the market to either trade for a vet or even sign a stop gap type like Augustine.

You guys would genuinely consider trading the 2nd pick for a ( sign n' trade) of Saric and the 10? If you guys were seriously considering that, SIGN ME UP!

You of course could be right man, As this draft is just so unpredictable and fluid to date. But for my part, I just see them as having more interest in Okoro and/ or Vassell, Mainly due to his affinity towards defensive oriented players. Also considering his past experience with elite defensive wings in Butler ( Chicago) and Covington ( Minnesota), I see him being nostalgic, and again targeting Okoro or Vassell at 8 first. And IF they're not they're, I wouldn't be all that surprised to see them look to trade the 8 and perhaps the Dallas unprotected 2021 first for Oladipo. I just think that any prospects with potential defensive red flags will be removed from consideration, given Thibs defensive oriented schemes, And proclivities.

Just for fun, This guy does produce some pretty good content on specific prospects we've all discussed, And their fit for our team:
GRANT RILLER
Devin Vassell
Desmond Bane
Saddiq Bey
Tyreese Haliburton
All in all, Nice content. Good introspection. And fairly entertaining for everyone's consideration.

Oh it's the Knicks so I have no idea what they actually might do because they do weird **** but when you're at ground 0 of a rebuild I personally wouldn't take a high level role player like Vassell even though I like him better as a prospect than Obi.Ghost of Kleine wrote:WeekapaugGroove wrote:I think the Knicks should take Toppin. Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
The Phoenix Suns are the team that the Warriors are hoping to ring their line with a potential deal. A swap for Kelly Oubre Jr. and the 10th pick is the best and most realistic deal the Dubs will be able to find.

I decided to finally change the poll and directed it towards this trade idea/mock.

The Warriors can’t pay Oubre. They’d need to move Wiggins.

I would hate this trade and we would be a worse team next year for sure.
I do not expect any rookie being better than Oubre. I do not know long term, but no way next season.
Booker would not like a trade like that and it would be a risky move for our stability.
But Sarver would save some money for next season with this move...that is true.

They have a trade exemption from the Iggy trade that Oubres contract this coming season would fit. They would have one hell of a luxury tax bill though.DirtyDez wrote:The Warriors can’t pay Oubre. They’d need to move Wiggins.
I'm not in the must trade oubre camp nor do I like the top of this draft class but you have to consider this because you'd not only move up but moving Oubres deal would open them up to grabbing another $12mil+ type UFA while keeping Dario. So for the suns it would basically be 2+ UFA for Oubre and 10.

Re: 2020 NBA Draft Prospect Watch
Interesting to see how the poll results are going so far. A defensive PF that gets most of his points in the paint and has no 3 point shot.
For what its worth, he would be my 2nd choice. I hate to say it but i would go with Ball. He has Rubio like passing skills, has "ok" defense (His size helps him more than anything), and a better shot than Rubio. I think you continue to start Ricky, but give Ball plenty of minutes behind him. Rubio would be a perfect mentor for Ball in being a floor general and i think he would also really help him hone in on the defense as well. As for shooting, You have Booker who he would definitely learn from playing with and against him day in and day out, not to mention the other great shooters we have on the team.
At this point i think he is just as good as his brother Lonzo but being a bit better on offense, and i would be perfectly fine with that. To me there are 3 ways he can go, stay where he is development wise and he is Lonzo, Improve just on defense and he is Ben Simmons, improve Both Offense and Defense and you have a Westbrook player in a few seasons.
Now with all that being said, thats the way i would go, but totally think the Suns FO goes in a different direction. They seem to like the more veteran players that are more seasoned, have a higher floor but lower ceiling, and have some spirituality sprinkled in, so almost the exact opposite of Ball. I think the Suns like Toppin/Haliburton/Smith/Bane because of their age/skillsets/ability to help right away, and Vassell/Nesmith/Bey because of their 3 point shooting. So looking at those names there is only1 that sticks out as someone you would need to trade up for to even have a chance and thats Toppin. The rest should be there at #10 with the exception of Haliburton, but #2 is way too high for him.
Im still holding out hope we can trade the #10 to BOS for #14 & #26. If we could walk away draft night with Smith and Bane (Or Ritter in the slim chance Bane isnt there at #26) i would consider the night a huge win.

On Riller: He played only four games against a top-25 opponent in four seasons. In those games, he scored just 45 points on 47 shots.

If Ball was on the board at 2 that's probably where I would lean because the best case version of him would be a great fit next to Booker and great player in general. But man would that be a terrifying pick.Kerrsed wrote:Interesting to see how the poll results are going so far. A defensive PF that gets most of his points in the paint and has no 3 point shot.

Haliburton would be my alternate choice, far less upside but barring injury I think he's a lock to be a solid rotation guy. His biggest weakness is I never see him as a true modern PG who can break down a D but with Booker next to him that doesn't worry me as much.
3rd maybe Deni but I feel like I need to study him more. I assume he won't make it to 10 so haven't went too deep on him.
Edwards, I'm not sure I'd even take him 10. Just not a guy I like.

I don't understand the Okongwu appeal for us either. The last thing we need to do is spend another top 2 pick on a C. I hate the Bam comparisons too because what makes Bam SO great is that he is basically kind of a point center, averaging over 5 apg, and often double digit assists. Now a "Bam without the passing" is ok but not great..it's not like he shoots 3s so he can't spread the floor so he's limited.
It's nice to have a solid defensive big in the middle but you can't play Okongwu with Ayton. Not against 95% of the lineups out there.
Ultimately I think the Suns would pass on this offer anyway though...I don't think they want to trade up...I think if they did and had to pick there and couldn't trade down they would probably take Haliburton though.

I really like Okongwu as a prospect and hell if he slid to 10 I might take him just on value but no way I'd take him in a trade up situation unless you had a deal in place to move Ayton.

This trade is more about clearing cap space then moving up in my opinion. If Wood and Grant want to come to phx, this deal could make sense. In this scenario Phx should immediately trade #2. Something like #2 for Luke Kennard + #7 or #2 for #8 + #27 + future Dallas 1st..
PG -Rubio//Luke/Payne
SG - Booker/JC/Payne
SF - Bridges/Cam
PF - Grant/Wood
C - Ayton/Wood
+ a rookies from trade.

Even without Oubre on the books theres no way to fit BOTH Grant and Wood. I honestly wouldn't give Wood a huge deal, he kind of screams inflated stats on a bad team buyer beware guy.Crives wrote:Kerrsed wrote:The Phoenix Suns are the team that the Warriors are hoping to ring their line with a potential deal.
