How is he #2? Kareem/Russell/Duncan and maybe Shaq are all superior at this point. And he's never touching Jordan. That ship has sailed.

"Congratulations to LeBron James. He has now won as many titles as the great Will Perdue, and... Kurt Rambis."

lol, from the Roundball Rock podcast

Then they said the Mount Rushmore of "Four Titles People" is Rambis, Purdue, John Salley, and LeBron.

"Because he bumped Vern Mikkelsen."

Then how did he drop 43 when he was 40?

Point being, not many if you have to post a picture of a relic.

In a few years when fans are calling Jordan a relic, Russell will still have 11 rings and 8 in a row.

Not to many players and teams can repeat. That's what the original poster was implying. You for some reason posted a picture of Bill Russell in a poor attempt to refute that statement for some reason. The answer is simply, not many. You feeling the need to bring Russell in the discussions to prove whatever point you're trying to make is very odd considering on top of that, there were only 8 teams when he won lol.

Michael Jordan is the GOAT AINEC

Michael Jordan is the GOAT and it’s not even close.

Championships:
Jordan: 6 LeBron: 4

FMVP:
Jordan: 6 LeBron: 4

MVP:
Jordan 5 LeBron: 4

All Defence Team:
Jordan 9 LeBron 5

Scoring Tittles:
Jordan 10 LeBron 1

Steals Leader:
Jordan 3 LeBron 0

Assists Leader
LeBron 1 Jordan 0

DPOY
Jordan 1 LeBron 0

Only player to win Scoring Tittle, MVP & DPOY in same season. 2 Time Dunk Champion. ACC rookie of the year. ACC player of the Year. NCAA Champion. List just keeps going.

Jordan (Bulls)

James

Made playoffs:
Jordan 13/13 LeBron 14/17

Overall playoffs Win %
Jordan 66.5 LeBron 65.3

Finals Win %
Jordan 100 LeBron 40

Jordan faced 269 opponents in his playoff career, outscoring every player, except one.

27 of the 37 playoff opponents Jordan faced had over 50 wins. James has never had to defeat 3 teams with 50 wins or 2 teams with 60 wins in any playoff run. Jordan’s teams accomplished this in 5 of his 6 playoff runs.

Playoff game-winners/tie-ers with 25 seconds or less
– Jordan 10/19 (53%)
– LeBron 8/23 (35%)
Finals game-winners/tie-ers with 25 seconds or less
– Jordan 4/8 (50%)
– LeBron 0/6 (0%)

* Record 8 50-plus point playoff games.
* The all-time playoff record for the most 30-plus point playoff games with 109.
* Only player in NBA history to never once score under 15 points in any playoff game he ever played in.

MJ has literally everything over Lebron. Titles, accolades, stats, intangibles, eye test, impact, respect.. THERE IS NO ARGUMENT FOR LEBRON.

KAJ probably has a better case for #2 all time, LeBron is a good overall player but the recruiting process everywhere he goes is embarrassing. He's 40% in the finals, despite forming multiple super teams.

Jordan was a phenom in the 80’s. The best player on the planet by a country Mile. He never took the easy way out. Showed up to every single game, put the team on his back and played his heart out. His insane competitive drive was amazing.

What if Jordan left the Bulls and joined the Lakers in the 80’s? Returned to Chicago in the 90’s when they were better (and still recruited a star player)? Then jumped ship again for his final run recruiting Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett and other solid players to win a few more Championships before retiring? How many Championships would Jordan have? 15? 16? 17?

Michael Jordan was just on a different level of greatness. The Best Ever.

Great video for those that never got the privilege to watch Michael Jordan play.

That's the problem with the LeBroners...not aware of the history...not even aware that the GOAT was MVP of both regular season and NBA Finals at 35  . He was regular season MVP at 33 and should have won that regular season MVP over the mailman (at 34).
LeBron has yet to win a regular season MVP in his 30s--and that's a GOAT???

And he had 6 rings, 6 fmvp, 5 mvps, dpoy.
30 playoff records. Some are impossible for lebron to break.
Like never score under 15 in a playoff game.
Never score under 20 points in a finals game.
2xolimpic golds.
1xncaa title.

Now thay vs 4 rings, 4 fmvps, 4 mvps.
1xolimpics gold.
22 playoff records.
Most of them accumilation stats.

Still better and will be the goat for a while.

His arch enemies in the Bad Boys which he beat en route for the 1st title, his 3peat into retiring because of the murder of his father, his comeback to get another 3peat, all of his HOF rivals etc. Lebron running to a team with healthy salary situation after ruining cap space of the former team by forcing his FO's to sign win-now players that get washed up after a couple of years which basically makes him seem like a parasite, and having a lot of guys on vet min who deserve a much better contract... not a great narrative at all.

Bill Russell's narrative is still the best. His team won 11 of 13 Finals, beat the two teams he'd ever lost in the playoffs to in subsequent playoffs. He never had significant injuries that caused him to miss games (unless you count winning an Olympic medal in the same season as a championship), while playing tons of minutes. He didn't care about his numbers, in an era where his biggest rival was all about the numbers. He was just about winning where it matters, and did that to a level no one else can touch. How many HOFers does Bill Russell have without doing all that winning, without being the ultimate "win" guy? He came off a better college career, too... led his team to two NCAA championships with a mostly-nothing team (apart from KC Jones).

To paraphrase Bird -- everyone is fighting for #2.

Wasn't Bird the same guy who said that MJ is a god and the best player in the league in '86? God sounds better than GOAT to me, maybe it's God>GOAT>the rest?

I mean, c'mon, 9 out of those 11 rings were in the 50s and 60s, nobody cares about an argument favoring a guy who played versus only 7 different teams to get those 9 rings in NBA's elementary school phase. You shoulda seen my soccer stats when playing vs my classmates, that's some GOAT stuff right there. The rivalries I've formed over the years playing against the same guys from my neighborhood, and sure, beating the only guys who have ever beaten me at some point I'm certain... Oh, you wouldn't believe it!

I'm sorry he didn't play in an era when basketball was filled with talent and a globally most popular sport after soccer, maybe he would've shown he'd be better than all that competition, but I'm sorry, he just can't, life ain't fair.

Russell won a ring in a league with 15 teams, beating two of the best teams in the league without HC advantage.

If LeBron gets to six he will pass MJ. I think he gets one more before he's done but 6 is not out of the question.
