What do you think a deal to get Donavon Mitchell here would look like?

We should do what we can to get Dipo on board on a 1 year prove it deal. He seems to want to be here, is still in his prime and over 2 years removed from his injury. Jrue would be even better but I think his salary messes up our 2021 free agency plans.

Bam and Herro, and maybe not even then. Jazz are building around him as their centerpiece, and when he signed the extension jazz got all the leverage.

Dipo isn’t going to come cheap right now. If we move for him it’ll be a deadline deal after he’s made it clear that he won’t resign with pacers and his short list doesn’t have other realistic alternatives to us.

Between him and Beasley I do not know which is mentally the slowest. But you know the dude has to validate the bad position he put himself in. The Heat gave him a great oppurtunity and he along with Whiteside treated the situation so dam unprofessionally. Dion officially became a practice squad player for a title team.

Dion got paid because of us, he should be thankful. He was a cast off on the NBA scrap heap - we picked him up, got him in the best shape he's ever been in and playing the best ball of his life. He got injured, we committed big money to him in the hope it was for real...it was fools gold. He was never the same guy after losing the hunger.

Bottom line, coming into this season, Dion got beat out by two rookies. That's on Dion. He's probably more talented than these guys but he doesn't get the 'team' thing and he doesn't put the work in, and that's always been the knock on him. His selfish pouting is what put him in the dog house after that. Compare that to a guy like Leonard who took his demotion with class and cheered his teammates on like he was into every game.

No one made this dude take gummies on a flight. His papers were stamped after that if they weren't already, so I guess that's where the 'bury' comment comes from.

I guess people look for motivation wherever they can find it, whether real or fabricated, so good luck to Philly Cheese.

Not mad at Mion, he was a fool but we went over the top to make an example out of him and JJ-- that will never sit right with me.

I hope he gets his head right and has a productive end to his career. I'm biased tho, I wanted him here and would've likened him over Nunn for this playoff run. GL tittyboi

there is a bit of look out for your own at play.... I get how you feel on that.

I really think part of that was Miami went out with the big contracts to take care of them, and then did not a commitment to excellence from JJ.

For Dion, you asked him to get in shape, he was in OUTSTANDING shape before the season. He looked cut and clean. You wanted him in elite shape, and it looked like he did ALL the hard work in the offseason, then he got benched for a rookie before the season starts. That always bothered me.

He got benched because of his mouth. Running his mouth being disrespectful to coaches worrying about a dam preseason game. A freaking preaseason game, the time coaches trying to see evaluate the inexperience players on the roster. The Heat had no time dealing with his childish attitude. The Heat tried to move him long before that, but his reputation was already known around the league. It wasnt worth the headache any longer. If you are going to work, act right or just stay away. Oh flaky ass attitude.

Funny thing is, The heat actually gave so much more burn with Dion than any other teams hes been on. Hes unknown on the lakers, cavs, okc and the list goes on. With Miami, he had a chit ton of burn and also went on 30-11 run IIRC.

Kinda weird saying "buried" when we literally dug his ass up to be on the court.

Yea', even if it is about the contracts- extrajudicial punishment for failing to perform is wildly unethical. And not a measure used by even the worse franchises in the league

Don't know if it was an initiative brought on by the open insolence of Whiteside or what may have happened behind the scenes but it wasn't a good look imo Hope we can avoid something like that in the future

As soon as we realized we had talented rookies it was out of Dion’s hands. It didn’t matter that he was in shape. We just were not going to put up with the attitude and that was not something that Dion could really change.

Why are we discussing Dion in the speculation thread? We signing him?

Who can the Heat afford outright? I'm partial to Young Thaddy, and Giles

The pool for wings or point guards isn't very large, unfortunately. Not against drafting Josh Green or Kira Lewis and wishing to the stars

Would like Kris Dunn for cheap in theory, but mans can't shoot

Got to go rooks I think. Cost controlled labor for a few years. Train em up and pray for the best. Get me a big with tools and a two way guard. If we can buy a 2nd, then I think we can do it.
