Would be a smart thing if they traded down and are able to acquire an extra player

If they trade down, I hope it’s to acquire an extra 2021 first

I wouldn’t be mad at this pick. Very safe pick. Rock solid.

I like the potential idea of #8 and DSJ for #15 and a future 1st round pick from ORL (probably lightly protected).

Looks like they want to push off their assets.
They screams trying to assemble a superstar trade.
Once they select the player at 8, unless it’s a homer it looks a lot of value.
If they can get a magic? future 1st rounder, that’s a nice trade chip

this makes the most sense to me if a team wants to trade up. Like you said 1st round picks are a depreciating asset once they get picked unless you land a big time player via the draft. Since this draft is probably light on "home run" type selections. And the value between 8 and 15 isn't crazy in term of someone at 8 could be someone 15th ranked player easily. A lot more eqaulity in this range then for sure stand outs.
So getting a future tradable or draftable asset in the future makes a lot of sense because they are obviously waiting for the next star that wants to be traded.
