I wouldn't say Avery quit on his team. He just wanted his son to be safe. I can respect that. Yes, Frank Vogel called Bradley up as soon as the game ended and said he will be receiving a ring. DeMarcus Cousins is eligible to receive a ring as well.

I can honestly say I enjoyed nick van exel and those 90s teams. These past few years were gut wrenching. We were gettin swamped by halftime of some of those games. Which is why I am totally in Enjoyment mode after this Chip. And extremely happy to be back on top where we belong.

I hated Nick Van Excel and Cedric Ceballos... Thought they sucked balls and stopped watching the Lakers because of them... But I really didn't understand at the time how hard it was to follow Magic and Kareem... Just how unique that talent was... So it wasn't fair but I thought Nick the Quick had one of the most punchable faces ever at the time...
In retrospect, he was one of the best Guards the Lakers have had...

The only duos to be able to follow Magic and Kareem without falling totally flat would be Kobe and Shaq, and now LBJ and AD.

Calling Nick and even Eddie even real lakers seems crazy to me now that I’m older and look back. I remember watching them and loving them and being amazed totally compared to Fish and Fox.

Now that I go back and watch their playoff games and moments over as lakers and their play with not just Shaq and Kobe but with Magic too I just don’t think they were special. I mean I watch Eddie glide around, be flashy, and then go ghost and be scared when hit in the face. I watch Nick mug everyone, talk, be flashy, and then see Stockton and be scared to throw a stone in a river without permission.

Then I watch Fish and Fox without half the natural born talent but 10x the nuts and hearts they ever had. I go back and watch Fisher in 01 hit shot after shot vs people more talented than him, play in the finals on a foot that needs surgery, chase Ray Allen, hit the shot in Orlando and go damn that’s a general and it’s easy to see why you go in battle with him. I watch Fox dunk on Pippen, chase Peja, hit Christie, glue Rice to the bench, and bark at Shaq and Kobe. Those two literally in 00 had their starter spots taken from them and didn’t bitch, didn’t cry, they just out worked who was in front of them and got it back and always came up big and I can’t think Nick or Eddie ever had that in them

I personally wouldn’t give him one. He chose to quit and wasn’t in the bubble grinding for a ring. His choice, he’s free to do what he thinks is best for himself and his family, but he wasn’t there when they needed him most.

I just don't agree that he deserves one. He quit on the team. He chose not to show up when the season restarted. If someone quits on a team in the middle of the season, do they deserve a ring? I don't think they do. I don't blame him for doing what he felt was best for his family. Everyone should do that. But he still quit. It doesn't really matter because they're going to give him a ring, but I personally don't think they should.

Bradley didn't leave because he couldn't be arsed to grind it out in the bubble. Man should get his ring.

That said, if he didn't drop out we might've never seen the impact from Rondo that was influential this playoff run.

Bradley didn't join bubble because his son is vulnerable to this virus and that means Avery would have had to be away from the whole family for the duration of the bubble. It's too much for some and I think understandable for many who have kids.

Avery should get a ring and Jeannie seems to agree. Nothing else to discuss.

Bradley should and will get a ring. Based on what I’ve historically seen of the Lakers organization, they are class all the way and they always treat their players with respect and thoughtfulness.
I’d be shocked if he doesn’t get a ring.

Of course they’re going to give him a ring. Pelinka was on the phone with him immediately after Game 6 during the celebration. Anything less would be petty, i.e. not how top-flight organizations work.

Though I understand his decision, I can’t feel bad for him if he didn’t get a ring.
Most military members make these kind of decisions all the time so that kind of separation from family is nothing new to me, with that said, it was always looked down upon when somebody wouldn’t make the deployment.
